  1. It’s sad that my first reaction was “I wonder how the President of the United States will react to this?” and I’m expecting something childish and some form of retribution. Crazy times we are living in

  2. This is pretty funny. The orthodox US position has always been to support the current Ve opposition and leader. To – imo – ridiculous extent. Like memes of 5-minute standing ovations in the US senate of Juan Guaido. Who is now paid a pension by US tax payers and lives in secret with his family in the US.

Trump will probably start attacking Machado after this, which would completely undermine Rubio and the Republican and overall US approach to Maduro. As well as launching more military actions.

Or it will shut him up and we hear nothing more about Venezuela from him.

  3. I knew there was a high chance of a silly winner (let’s not forget previous Nobel Peace Prize winners *Barack Obama* and *Henry Kissinger*), but they actually picked the coup-supporting freak who’s been [openly collaborating with the NED](https://venezuelanalysis.com/news/1235/) and the [CIA-affiliated murderers of the OAS](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-26726282) for at least 20 years? The same person who, after [the 2019 CIA-backed coup attempt by her friend ***Juan Guaidó***, announced her first intent to run for president](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mar%C3%ADa_Corina_Machado?utm_source=chatgpt.com#Later_political_career)?

    This is fucking rich.

  4. It’s funny how Europe was (rightfully) up in arms over Russia potentially backing some parties in some of the member states, or states that are likely to want to join the EU, but they nominate foreign funded opposition in global south for the peace prize.

No one questioned Moldova straight up banning two opposition parties two days before elections, giving the main opposition coalition 48 hours to replace people on the balot or they’d be banned from election too. Or Romania straight up cancelling Presidential elections and doing them half a year later.

  5. Well ofcourse the Nobel Committee is rotten with Joe Biden influence otherwise this wouldn’t have happened. But on a serious note someone who says he earned this prize is already wrong. Next to that doing it while pulling off all the shit he did. Even internationally leveraging it. Is there no one in his cabinet that was urging to him like don’t do this, this will not look good.

  6. I thought they rewarded it to Omar Yaghi? A Palestinian chemist

  7. This will contribute to the interests of the usual suspect, the US and Western nations.

She has been in favor of sanctions that have affected more than 300.000 Venezuelans’ access to healthcare. This startling number includes 80,000 HIV-infected patients, 16.000 ndividuals in need of dialysis, and 16.000 cancer patients. Food imports have also dramatically decreased over the last decade—from $11.2 billion of purchases in 2013 to $2.46 billion in 2018.  She will step over the corpses of those that died due to sanctions.

She has been been connected with NED, an NGO with the stated aim of advancing democracy worldwide and countering communist influence. Basically an NGO to further the interests of American imperialism.

  8. This is the same woman who sent a letter to Netanyahu in 2018 telling him to invade her country….

  9. Not surprised that they chose another far right ghoul who wants her country’s sovereignty handed over to the United States. If anything this woman should be awarded a plane ticket to The Hague for supporting the suffering of her own people

  10. I’m very proud, as a Venezuelan.

Maria Corina represents the will of the people. Calling everyone that aligns with the west “puppets” is childish, ignorant and shows little to no understanding of the politics in the region.

70% of Venezuelans inside Venezuela [voted for her](https://resultadosconvzla.com/). You can check the individual tallies for each voting center in the previous link. Be aware that the 8 million Venezuelans outside did not participate since they were barred from doing so.

I support American intervention. +70% of Venezuelans do too.
