  6. Th comments, people usually don’t choose the military because they make great life decisions. There is a reason there are jokes about don’t marry the stripper, don’t take a 28% interest loan out on the used car, etc.

  7. I think anyone should get help they need. Especially military members. But none of them should be hating on social programs (“socialism”), and hating on politicians that are wanting to support social safety nets, if they are standing in that line. Everyone deserves help if they lose work.

  27. Fake News Alert. The military was never supposed to get paid this week. The next payday is Thursday, 16th. The previous pay day was the 2nd. They get paid every two weeks.

    Also, they are underpaid, and I know service members on assistance even without a government shutdown.

  30. This is the Democrats shutdown. Minority party is the cause of shutdowns. Same as when the Republicans caused or threatened shutdowns under Obama and Biden.

    Both parties like the debt cap because it allows them to negotiate when they are in the minority. This time it is the Democrats turn.
