1. After three rounds, Ukraine sit second in the group behind France, keeping their hopes of reaching the tournament — to be hosted next summer across Canada, Mexico and the United States — very much alive.

2. Malinovskyi’s first game for Ukraine in over a year, first start since Euro 2024: immediately scores a brace, very decisive.

3. Great game for the forwards to hopefully build some confidence. The wing to center through passes and the run-in goals were a beauty. The spirit of the team to keep going every time Iceland equalized was great. Definitely some important lessons learned for defensive play and goalkeeping – but learning while still winning the 3 points is great.
