UK ready to use frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine war effort

   For those thinking this sounds familiar. It was from growth in the assets previously.

3. How do you manage to get profit and growth out of an asset without disposing of said asset?

4. I guess there’s always been a feeling that using the funds is chucking international law and order in the bin. I think we can all see now that America has totally binned the liberal world order. Use the money, fuck Russia. What’s the point in being the last player playing by the rules

5. Does that include the £2bn from the sale of Chelsea FC that is still being held by the government?

6. This should have been done long ago, but I’m guessing the government is/has been skimming the assets for profit, or trying to use it as leverage (which won’t work).

    Honestly, why does every European government sounds like a spineless parent making empty threats against a naughty child? No wonder Russia as been able to do whatever the fuck it wants for so long. 

12. This exact headline has been used since the invasion in February 2022. Fucking use them already. “Oh it sets a dangerous precedent” yeah a precedent of punishing aggressor nations that invade their neighbours. Arm Ukraine to the teeth, they don’t want to invade Russia, they just want to kill every single Russian soldier invader that steps foot on Ukraine’s sovereign territory, a noble and just cause.

13. Could we use it to fund our war on drugs instead, ie fund the police, or war on poverty – better befits, or war on pot-holes – fund the councils. ’tis a long list.
