  1. I thought nothing would surprise me about the housing crisis, but this just takes the cake.

  2. So many times these articles talk about how houses should be homes and not investments, but you never see them talk about *why* so many investors look to property.

And one of the main factors is how much investors are punished when looking at investment channels that are popular in other countries. Investing in funds here are taxed so heavily that it makes them massively unappealing, and people then look to other sources like property.

  3. I’ve a fire damaged 2 bed on two acres going through probate at the minute, hopefully the demand stays strong.

  4. ‘suspected arson attack’ – sounds like a lovely neighbourhood 🙄

  5. The house was not what was bought here.
    It was really the land.

  6. I mean, the EA is just trying to sell the house. They don’t care if it’s an investor or not. This article is a bit of a reach. The EA trying to sell this house is a symptom, not the cause of the housing crisis.

  7. Thought it was a prank when I seen yer man standing in front of it on Facebook.

  8. Let’s be real, the estate agents handling the property knew this would go viral. It’s not likely to go for much but they will get a sale as a result.

  9. Can we stop calling it the housing crisis and just call it housing dysfunction or housing failure instead.

  10. It’s not “part of the problem” at all. It’s a symptom.
