  1. A bus company???? You mean stagecoach, the largest bus and coach company in the country….

  2. “Stagecoach says that denying their drivers access to toilets is completely acceptable, but drivers leaving behind bottles of their own piss for Stagecoach to clean up *isn’t*.”

    Interesting standards.

  3. I think the most offensive things is the bouncy, friendly nature of the memo which is trying desperately to sugar coat the message, “Look we get that we work you plebs so hard without a break and schedule you so tightly that your only option is to piss in bottles so when you do make sure you take them with you because we’re sick of the complaints and bad publicity!”

  4. …and people wonder why they’re always advertising for bus driver jobs….

  5. Stagecoach are our local bus company, providing almost all services in and around the city.

They’re atrocious. Almost always late, running an old fleet (youngest bus is around 15 years old), cancelling buses without notice all whilst charging much more than their level of service should permit. It’s no wonder that the city has such traffic problems when this is the only alternative.

Now knowing how they’re treating their staff too, the question has to be asked why we continue to permit them to operate?

  6. Not something you’d want to put into writing, even though things like this are common in certain industries. Something that has been made increasingly worse in the past 10 years by the number of public conveniences that have closed.

  7. Impressively idiotic communication skills from a company with over 24,000 employees.

They clearly didn’t get the memo that you don’t say the quiet part out loud.

  8. >Senior Shop Steward for Stagecoach in Manchester Simon Thomas said the memo was an example of the “constant pressures” drivers were under.
He said: “They’re working harder for less.”

That quote is this country in a nutshell

  9. Correction :

Bus firm sorry *that they got caught, and that it made the BBC news* over wee-in-bottle memo to drivers

  10. What an outrage! It is traditional for passengers to piss and shit all over the bus, so I don’t see why drivers would be unwilling to do the same. Sounds like elitist snobbery to me.
