Roberto Martinez believes that his Portugal side deserved their win at home to Ireland despite needing a late, late show from Ruben Neves to secure the points that leaves Portugal in position to seal World Cup qualification on Tuesday.
But the former Everton boss also had words of praise for Ireland who, he claimed, were a vastly improved side from the team that took one point from a possible six in the September window.
