Thanks for the updates on my last post..Now I want your help again 🙂 to understand what they want now. I already translated the document which said that I haven't filed my tax for 2024 which is false as I already did that back in July and last week I called them for status and they told that it will take time and that your tax case is submitted to us..what should I do in this case?? Anyone faced such problem before? Would like to hear how did you sort it out.

  1. “wurde die Steuererklärung… inzwischen eingereicht … ist diese Erinnerung gegenstandslos” is what you need to look at: If you have already submitted, this letter is void.

  2. I would contact the Finanzamt again and ask specifically about this particular letter. I think those are fully automated, so the Finanzamt’s IT systems seem to not have your tax form. If I were you, I’d get written confirmation that this letter is inaccurate. If you already submitted your tax form, it’s probably their error anyway. But you might be able to spare yourself considerable trouble by clarifying this as early as possible.

  4. do what the letter says? “If you think that this letter is unjustified then please tell the responsible Finanzamt so that they can investigate”

    even if the letter didn’t explicitly say it, what other advice were you expecting? there’s some kind of misunderstanding so get in touch and figure it out

  5. it appears that you have not handed in your income tax report. you need to do that.

  6. I got a basically identical letter after submitting my taxes months earlier and getting a refund about a month before the letter. I wrote to the Finanzamt and they confirmed it was generated in error.
