Where does this creative protest movement come from?

Unrest flared this week in Oregon after United States President Donald Trump called for the deployment of National Guard Troops to protect federal immigration facilities, against what he says is domestic terrorism.

But among those out in the streets protesting the president’s decision, some being arrested or pepper sprayed, are those dressed up in animal costumes.
