Greece and Cyprus have been invited by U.S. President Donald Trump to take part in a high-level summit on Gaza, set to take place on October 13, 2025, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. The invitations were extended directly to Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides.

On the aftermath of a historic ceasefire deal, the conference is being organized amid heightened international concern over the worsening humanitarian crisis and ongoing conflict in Gaza and will be chaired by US President Donald Trump and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he will attend. French President Emmanuel Macron as well as Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer, his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni and Pedro Sanchez of Spain have confirmed attendance. Israel has not confirmed yet, while Iran has also been invited.

According to Axios, the U.S. State Department has expanded the list of participants for the leaders’ summit. Other newly invited countries include Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Canada.
