A new high-speed catamaran service between the port city of Split and Supetar on the island of Brač started will operate from 13 October 2025 to 31 December 2026.
The new route is run by Kapetan Luka – Krilo, with a journey time of just 22 minutes each way.
The introduction of this new fast ferry line follows months of cooperation between residents, local institutions, and the City of Supetar.
Earlier this year, the city gave its full support to Kapetan Luka – Krilo’s request to establish the service, highlighting three key priorities:
• The timetable should meet the needs of daily commuters — employees, students, and patients.
• Ticket prices should include discounted islander fares on key routes.
• The long-term aim is to have the route classified as a public service line, ensuring stability, accessibility, and sustainability.
The timetable will be adjusted regularly to match the needs of locals, particularly those who commute daily for work, education, or healthcare.
As Morski.hr reported, Mayor Marković emphasised that this new connection represents an important step toward improving transport links between Brač and the mainland.
“From Split to Supetar with docking – just 22 minutes! This line should have been introduced long ago. With over 2.2 million passengers travelling on this route annually, faster and better connections are essential,” she said.
“This is especially important for our residents who travel daily for work, school, or medical appointments. Ticket prices must be fair and accessible to everyone.”
She added that the new service could also boost year-round tourism by enabling day trips and enhancing the island’s accessibility.
“This brings new energy and a better quality of life for our community,” she concluded.
Krilo Fast Ferries announced the Split – Supetar – Split route will be completely free for the first three days, on October 13th, 14th and 15th, “as a sign of pride and goodwill.”
