  1. 140,000 reports (!), from all over the UK.

Seems to be affecting BT and Plusnet too?

  2. It’s *incredibly* dead.

Broadband, phone data, heck even their website itself.

EDIT: Looks like it’s starting to come back up as of ~17:05

  3. Yeah not just VF, full system outage for VF, DNS failing for most landline systems across the board

  4. Yep very down – https://thelocal365.com/article/vodafone-outage-forces-brits-to-talk-to-each-other-for-the-first-time-in-years/ might have to read a book or do a jigsaw or something drastic.

  5. Yeah… phone and broadband. That’s…. impressive.

I have wifi at the office, but everything else? Down

  6. Three not working great in my area either. I’ve got both 3 and Vodafone and Vodafones SIM is dead. Three is showing 4g but won’t connect to anything at all.

  7. Wondered why I couldn’t catch up on the latest about the Royal Family the Daily Mail. Tut.

  8. My wife knows I can’t do any more work now and has already sent me a list of jobs to do around the house.

  9. It has been down for me since 1508. Still not up. Did the entire servers explode ? 😱 Need to work and can’t due to the internet being down😅

  10. For anyone who wants to go do something else until their WFH setup starts working again, `ping -a 8.8.8.8` will keep trying to hit Google’s servers and when it connects, will beep every second (Linux/macos/WSL).

  11. Yep just turned my (non-Vodafone) wifi off and despite my phone showing 4 bars of 4G nothing is working.

  12. In fairness to the Vodafone customer care team and their press department, they probably can’t get online at the moment to tell anyone what the hell is going on.

  13. I’m very grateful I never signed up to one of their multi packages and my phone is on a different network.

  14. Oh the WiFi is down. I’ll just hotspot my phone . (Vodafone sim ) 🙃

  15. I just signed up to Vodafone and talk mobile last month…this is not a great start. Having to borrow the neighbours WiFi to even check what’s happening.

  16. So glad my phone is different to the broadband my children feel like they are camping however with no wifi haha

  17. We’ve been told it’s a cascade effect brought down the DNS systems after vf system crash

  18. This happened to me recently, woke up with no phone no Internet and no mobile internet (same network does both broadband and phone). Couldn’t WFH, couldn’t contact manager, couldn’t contact phone company, couldn’t get Uber to office. One of those moments where you realize just how reliant everything is on phone and Internet.

  19. “A communications disruption can mean only one thing, invasion “

  20. Yup, lebara whcih is on the vodafone network has also completely died

I’m meant to be in a meeting soon, but now that I have literally no internet, I guess it’s a pint and free pub wifi for a while

  21. Very glad to not have phone and broadband tied to the same company.

  22. Bet theres some gamers who are probably in a rage now cause it.

  23. Have they tried turning it off for 30 seconds then turning it back on

  24. half of our company is WFH and got knocked offline lol. People are scrounging public wifi networks just to find out what’s going on.

  25. Somebody deleted the A records for their main dns Vodafone.co.uk – they no longer exist

  26. Bless you for giving me the afternoon off having to do no work because I use Vodafone broadband lmao. I finish in 5 mins, the past 2 hours have been a lovely start to the week!

But if you could get it back running for when I finish work that’d be great 😅

  27. If you ring the customer service number it just says “this mobile phone is switched off”

  28. Just came back up. Not only did *everything* go down, it happened the instant I pressed ‘apply’ on a big network configuration change on my network. That sent me on a wild goose chase for a good hour trying to figure out what the fuck I’d done wrong, eventually ending in me scrounging off free NHS WiFi to confirm that yes it was in fact everywhere.

Also apparently my plan to move all of our mobile and broadband contracts over to Vodafone is deeply flawed.

  29. My internet started working. Maybe they just turned Vodafone off and on again.

  30. Just came back on. I have vodafone broadband and mobile network. So for the past couple hours had been bored without service. Just shows how much we rely on wifi/data

  31. It’s beginning to work again.

The annoying thing for me is that my phone is voda as well, and I’ve been completely dark.

I had to watch TV :/

  32. From ISP review:
“A quick look at Vodafone’s ASN – AS25135 (Vodafone UK Packet Backbone Network) – shows that its routes seem to have vanished from the global routing tables“.
Hopefully that will mean something to someone.

  33. Vodaphone broadband is working again in Greater Manchester

  34. I had an online job interview and 2 secs after I clicked join meeting it says no internet connection. Of all the times this could have happened!
