Gaza: Hamas official says hostage and prisoner lists exchanged with Israel • FRANCE 24 English

very little has leaked out of the Four Seasons Hotel in Sharma in Egypt. So, we don’t know. We may be making suppositions here. Um, we’ve been told, incidentally, that the negotiators who thus far have been uh bureaucrats, low-level professionals, basically brought in to try and hammer out some of the technical details behind uh Donald Trump’s 20 point principles, 20 principles. Um what we’re hearing is that the same points are still being, you know, ground down and ground down and ground down. There is a little bit of news. We have reports this morning, for example, that Hamas is demanding the return of the bodies of two of its leaders who were killed by Israel during this two-year period. Yiki Senoir, the almost legendary leader of Hamas, and his brother Muhammad. Uh we’re hearing that Hamas has taken a step back from the Trump uh precept and now says that it will release the last Israeli hostage only when the last Israeli um soldier leaves Gaza. That’s not exactly what’s foreseen in Trump’s plan where he determined that the all the hostages all of them would be released within 72 hours of this agreement’s uh acceptance of its signing following which Israel would then withdraw according to a phase plan. We are hearing again that Hamas is demanding very very serious international guarantees that after the implementation of this agreement that Israel will not return to war. And Donald Trump from his comments yesterday does seem inclined to give those guarantees which would of course uh limit Prime Minister Netanyahu’s ability to act uh in in Gaza if he felt the need and also would ability limit his ability to explain this accord to Israelis to whom he has long said including just two days ago that Israel will never completely leave the Gaza Strip. So these are some of the complications that we’re hearing about. But there’s a sense here that the arrival of Steve Wickoff, Trump’s envoy, of Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, of the chief of Turkeykey’s intelligence, who is a crucial figure in these entire array of decisions, but hasn’t been much mentioned, and of the Qatari prime minister. All of these uh men are arriving in Egypt with the plan of basically banging an agreement together um with less regard for the details of what Israel wants and what Hamas wants than the two sides may face.

Hamas negotiators and Israel have exchanged lists of prisoners and hostages who would be released should a deal be reached during the ongoing Gaza ceasefire talks in Egypt, senior Hamas official Taher Al-Nounou said on Wednesday. Indirect negotiations between Israel and Hamas are being held at the Red Sea resort town of Sharm El-Sheikh, based on a 20-point plan proposed by US President Donald Trump last month.   4. The 20-point plan for Hamas has only two points, the release of hostages and unconditional surrender. The other points are not on the table for Hamas. Everything else is a failure to comply with the plan by Hamas. In that case, let all hell break loose.

  32. Unless the bodies of murdered hostages are kept in a recorded morgue location, I very much doubt Hamas even know where all these bodies are, hence the delaying tactics by Hamas, have they even displayed proof of the living hostages?

  35. FOX News just reported a peace deal has been made. President Trump should get the noble peace prize for all the war's he helped stopped. If not, then it shows how biased towards left wingism the noble committee is. Was bad enough Barak Obama got it for being the first black president of America.
