  1. > “There’s so many elements of the tone and the comedy that are so suited for animation,” Kang told the news outlet. “It’s really hard to imagine these characters in a live-action world. It would feel too grounded. So totally it wouldn’t work for me.”

  2. This is the way.. stop making live action crap out of great anime material please..

  3. Some of the best parts of the character development is the ridiculous faces they make and I don’t think that would play at all in live action.

  4. Ah yes, live action remakes. The perfect idea coming from those that have no new ideas. Tongue-in-cheek comment, I know, but some things are better done or left as animations.

  5. Translation: “They didn’t offer me enough money.”

  6. I really hate how Hollywood wants to turn everything into a live action movie. Almost every single live action adaptation is dogshit. Props to the creator for rejecting this nonsense.

  7. And like Squid Games there will have to be an American Adaptation called Girl Band Demon Hunters.

  8. Good.

I’m for keeping some things animated.

I wouldn’t want a live action Halo movie without Steve Downs as Master Chief.

  9. Omg enough with the cash grab live actions no one ask for, for Pete’s sake. Animation is in and of itself an art form sheesh, we like things that were animated to stay animated, that’s part of the appeal.

  10. Live Action remakes are especially shitty because they clearly show that the studio thinks of animation as a lesser art form.

  11. Give us 5 more movies and an animated tv show, not a love action remake

  12. Why is everyone’s first impulse to take a beloved *animated* property and make it live action? Has live action *ever* outclassed an animated version?

  13. A live action version would lose the visual gags

  14. Tired of any animated film being treated like the end goal should be live action.

  15. She is a freaking genius and whatever she says is correct.

  16. Sony Animation wouldn’t like it if it was Live Action.

  17. So that means in the not-too-distant future, Kang will get a blank check and BAM! Demon Hunter movie.

  18. I’m sure they’ll change their tune for the right price

  19. It’s perfect as is

But it’s not my creation so I hope the creator does as they see fit

  20. Live action remakes of animation feel creatively bankrupt. And with how (overly) prolific CGI is now, it kind of blurs the line between something being ‘live-action’ and ‘3D animation’.

  21. The animation is a large part of its identity and the visuals are stunning. Doing a live-action version would take away that magic.

  22. The movie’s not even 6 months old yet and people are already talking about a remake? Have we run out of fresh ideas AND things to adapt?

  23. Totally agree with this. Some of my favorite aspects of this movie are the extreme chibi style faces and quick humor with the movements and transformations. It would be hard to pull that off convincingly with real actors, and in the end, it wouldn’t be worth the effort. It’s already been manifested perfectly in its original form. I would rather this team work on a follow-up movie and not rush it, so it can live up to the greatness of the first.
