  1. I’m sure Hornswoggle is a very successful wrestler. But outside of the fandom for that specific sport, almost no one has heard of him. Peter Dinklage has become the de facto face of that community because he is in roles where mainstream audiences see him. Hornswoggle, not so much.

  2. Peter said something ONCE that is taken out of context, then Disney fucks little people over using that as a reason (as if Dinklage had any decision making influence) and mfers are still blaming him over that?

  3. His point was never that they shouldn’t be hired for those roles, his point was that they overwhelmingly tend to get hired *just* for those roles.

His appearance in Dexter is a good example of how he’d actually like to see things. Where there is space in the acting world for a role, filled by someone like him, but where their size is entirely unrelated to the role.

  4. Dinklage opened the door for a lot of opportunities then closed the door behind him after he entered.

  5. Dr Erin Pritchard, consultant for the movie, confirmed that the decision concerning the CGI for the dwarfs was made in 2021, before Dinklage’s comments. Postl should keep himself updated.

  6. Dinklage won a golden globe then told people to google Martin Henderson, an actor with dwarfism who was crippled after being violently assaulted outside a pub.

He’ll always be a real one for that.

  7. I know it’s an intentional stage name, but Hornswoggle the Dwarf having a beef with another Dwarf is so funny.

  8. hornswoggle has been on record thinking peter dinklage is a ladderpulling dick for a long time now, this isnt new

  9. People blaming him for giving the tamest of criticism rather than Disney for overcorrecting.

  10. I’m being mean but why is someone whose only film credits being guy who only film credit is killing the leprechaun franchise think he’s important enough to talk about this over the hundreds of dwarf actors who actually want to be actors and not wrestlers.

  11. I can’t speak on Hornswoggle’s experience, he very likely knows way more than I do.

I heard Dinklage’s comments had nothing to do with Disney’s decision. I heard no studio really took it to heart, which makes sense if you’re familiar with Hollywood studios. They rarely listen to actors.

  12. Even after reading the article, I don’t understand what the issue is between these two.

  13. Hasnt it been widely know for many years that Dinklage is a ladder puller going back to like pre-Elf?

  14. Hornswoggle’s acting like he was getting booked at all lol

  15. The dwarf wars need to stop. How much more senseless slander before everyone comes up short?

  16. I always liked his first name that JBL gave him. ‘Little Bastard’.

Edit: I should add, from everyrhing I have heard, I agree with Little Bastard.

  17. Can’t they both just do a buddy copy movie together? That’s what America wants, not this bickering.

  18. Where’s Warwick Davis in all of this? Linda Hint? Meredith Eaton?

  19. This seems simply like a genuine, deeply held difference of opinion between Dinklage and Hornswoggle. Dinklage seems to view comedic roles for people with dwarfism where the comedy is rooted in their size and bodily proportions as something akin to minstrelsy, and that more people with dwarfism should be cast in roles that have nothing to do with their size.

Hornswoggle, whose career was built on the market for those kinds of roles, seems to be angry that Dinklage is using his platform to condemn a phenomenon that gets many people work because of his own pride. Given that while Hollywood is willing to cast Dinklage or Warwick Davis in roles that don’t make them the butt of a joke, it’s something that still doesn’t happen much generally, I can kind of understand why he might feel this way.

Personally, while I’m inclined to agree with Dinklage, given that I don’t have dwarfism, I don’t think it’s my place to tell someone who does what roles they should or shouldn’t want.

  20. He did great in the new Dexter season. They could have cast anyone

  21. I find it immensely hard to believe that Peter Dinklage’s acting career took acting roles from -checks notes- a WWE dwarf wrestler.

It’s sort of like saying Helen Mirren took roles from the expat Ukrainian/Russian community.

None of that is happening here

  22. Dinklage is fucking up, not to mention how he phoned in Toxic Avenger (I heard the woman is amazing tho)

  23. If not him, then the little lady playing the flute and dancing on the bar please.

  24. I went to middle school with hornswoggle. He was a backyard wrestler and would get seriously injured only to miraculously recover when anybody voiced calling 911.

  25. on a tangentially related topic- does anybody know if it went back to being correct to calling little people dwarf? or is it still little people

  26. Warwick Davis was accused of the same thing in *Life’s Too Short*.

  27. He’s right, too.

Even though the Disney film was a complete cash grab flop, his comments cost the job of seven dwarf actors, stunt performers, etc.

Little people can play regular roles, but they can also play roles meant for little people….
