The Vampire’s Wife cast a spell beyond the royal set, too. Kate Moss praised the otherworldly designs and once called Susie Cave ‘the most glamorous woman I had ever met.’ Keira Knightley described donning one of Cave’s gowns as ‘an occasion in itself, full of magic and decadence.’ And Florence Welch, perhaps the brand’s most emblematic muse, praised the ‘subversive femininity’ of the clothes: ‘They seem to have walked out of a gothic fantasy. One that is entirely Susie’s.’
Princess Beatrice made her latest outing in the brand for a very special occasion. She and Edo were in town to watch a live auction, featuring art and non-art prizes from a host of brands and businesses. A bevvy of exclusive experiences were up for grabs, including the chance for a part in Starlight, the upcoming film by Marlon Brandon’s grandson, Michael Brando. While it’s unlikely that Beatrice claimed that particular prize, it wouldn’t be the first time that the Queen’s granddaughter has graced the silver screen. Back in 2009, she appeared in The Young Victoria alongside Emily Blunt as a lady-in-waiting. Should she fancy another trip to Hollywood, perhaps Susie Cave should get in touch with the costume department.
