UPDATE :
Hey everyone,
Wow. I honestly didn’t expect my post to blow up like this. The amount of advice, feedback, and encouragement I received from this community has been just incredible, y’all are so supportive. You guys really turned what started as a stressful situation into something genuinely helpful and hopeful so, first off, thank you. 🙏🏿
I read every single comment (yes, even the brutally honest ones 😅.. especially those ones😌) and I took all the constructive feedback seriously. Here’s what I changed based on your advice:
• I removed the interest section that everybody hated. I also have my GitHub and portfolio links in the header.
• I made the bullet points in my experiences much more concise and focused. And I really did all those things I included in my experience. While reading some of the comments I was even taking it as a compliment that some might think it sounds too good to be true.
• I Clarified some of my tech stack into groups in the skills sections.
• In Germany, it’s common practice to include a picture on your resume, so I’d like to keep mine. I’m proud of who I am, and I believe I should be evaluated based on my skills, qualifications, and how I can contribute to a team. I used to think that being from Cameroon and having lived and studied in countries like India and Japan, and now currently in Germany, would make my experience interesting to someone. I should be valued for my background and perspective, not judged by my skin color and it’s heartbreaking that this is the case now in 2025.
• I Clearly indicated my German level (B2) and kept everything truthful and realistic. When I first meet people and we start speaking in German, they always tell me „Wow, nur 18 Monate in Deutschland sprichst du schon gut Deutsch“ and I always reply Nein, even though I know deep down it’s a little true, but I also have very high standards for myself and I’m focused on continuous improvement.
• Oh, and yes I left “Lovely Professional University” as it is, because that’s literally the name. Not a placeholder, I swear 😂. It’s not my fault it’s named after candy 🤷🏾♂️. It is actually one of the top ranked unis in India.
Here’s the new version of my CV (screenshot attached).
If you have time, I’d really appreciate a second round of eyes on it just to make sure I’m heading in the right direction this time.
Also, a small update on my job hunt: still searching, but now with much more confidence and direction. I’m also doubling down on my German practice and I’ll have a German version of it ready to apply in German.
Once again, thanks to everyone who took the time to comment, DM, or share advice. You’ve made a huge difference. ❤️

tbh i thought ur pic was a placeholder and ur uni name as well
From my experience the largest obstacle is the language. B2 is simply not enough with the current job market. I would advise you to work on getting C1 asap! Good luck 🙂
EDIT: I can’t believe “Lovely Professional University” is the real name. Just googled it though and it is^^
Where in germany are you looking? Also, please add the german version for review.
Even though that is the actual name of the university, I would go with an abbreviation (“LPU Punjab”). It is extremely unlikely that anyone is familiar with that university, and there is a high risk that it will be mistaken as a weird placeholder.
Much better 🙂
It’s almost there – I would significantly shorten the skills section though.
Only list the skill if you are a true “expert”
I can’t believe that you are an expert in each DB you have listed? Or each programming language?
Only list the one you know inside and out and have significantly used in a professional setting.
As somebody who was receiving the CVs: I always appreciated a motivation letter that explains why you chose to apply to this specific company.
Sometimes it is too obvious that people just upload their CV everywhere.
First of all, I don’t know the previous version, will simply give feedback on this one as if it was an application submitted to me.
* Database skills: isn’t CMS just content management systems, i.e. a web application such as typo3? So you are able to use a software as a regular user like adding content or what was your special skill about it?
* Minor: you already listed a couple of testing frameworks, don’t think that including “integration tests” adds any more value
* I like your descriptions below “experience”, neither too much nor too little and highlights your most important achievements pretty well
* I’ve never been a fan of the “summary” sections in CVs, to me they are just noise but maybe many people expect them, I know they are common in international CVs
* Overall, I would invite you to an interview 👍
Design Fine-Tuning: To increase your ATS chances, you better remove visual items like icons/images, text in boxen and lines. It can confuse Parsing tools to an extend that they will stop screening or filter you out. You‘ll see that it still looks clean without those items. Just plain readable text (boring but works best)
Pro tip: Tailor every application to the job ad with exact word matches from the description
I would hire you for the sole reason that you are not giving up that easy. But I’m in a completely different industry. Nevertheless, I wish you all the luck with your endeavour!
I would have given up after 50-100. Once i used to be desperate. Now IDGAF.
