Princess Eugenie took on some royal duties during an official state visit from the Jordanian royal family on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
King Charles’ niece, 35, toured Springfield University Hospital and St. George’s Mental Health NHS trust alongside Princess Rajwa al Hussein, exploring how the charity incorporates art into mental health treatment.
“We viewed a number of artworks created as part of an initiative by the charity Hospital Rooms, which integrates art into mental health care environments,” Eugenie shared on Instagram.
“Their mission is to commission leading international artists to produce permanent, high-quality works for mental health wards across the UK’s National Health Service, helping create welcoming and uplifting spaces for patients. Truly beautiful.”
The duo then toured the London art gallery Hauser & Wirth, where Princess Eugenie works as a director.

While she and her elder sister, Princess Beatrice, aren’t full-time working royals like senior members of the family, Eugenie is a patron of a number of charities close to her heart. Earlier this month, it was announced that she had become a patron of Arts Works U.K., an organization that aims to help young people “make change through creativity.”
“Her support marks a significant moment in our mission to champion creativity and amplify the voices of children and young people,” Arts Work said of the princess’s support in their Oct. 3 announcement. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to nurturing talent, building confidence, and empowering young people to become the next generation of creative and cultural leaders.”
Rajwa has similar interests, having studied visual communications at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, Calif.
The Jordanian princess, 31, and her husband, Crown Prince Hussein, also 31, are currently on their first official European tour together after tying the knot in June 2023 and welcoming their first daughter, Princess Iman, on Aug. 4, 2023.
Prior to their U.K. visit, the couple traveled to France, where they met with President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte.
The tour will continue on Wednesday, Oct. 15, when Prince William and Prince Hussein will tour the RAF Benson Air Force Base in Oxfordshire.
Both princes are trained helicopter pilots and trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in their youth, though they were there at different times.

Prince Hussein’s mother, Queen Rania, had special praise for the Princess of Wales when she and King Abdullah visited the U.K. in 2022 to attend Queen Elizabeth’s funeral.
“Princess Catherine, you know, when she talks about her work, her face lights up,” Queen Rania told CNN at the time. “She does it out of a sense of duty, but more importantly, she does it because she absolutely cares.”
