By far, the worst of MAGA Finstad’s failures is not to speak out and defend our brown/black skinned immigrant neighbors under attack by domestic terrorist Stephen Miller’s textbook crimes against humanity. Miller’s purposeful violence is illegal, unconstitutional plus be aware there is no statute of limitations for crimes against humanity.
The Oct. 9 AP story by journalist Nicole Winfield reports El Paso, Texas, Catholic church Bishop Mark Seitz met in person with Pope Leo to chronicle Stephen Miller’s terrorism against immigrants in America.
Bishop Seitz brought letters from immigrant families who are “terrified by fear that they and their loved ones will be rounded up and deported as the Trump administration’s tactics grow increasingly combative.”
Winfield reports: “Just before he died, Pope Francis strongly rebuked the Trump administration’s plans for mass deportations, warning that the forceful removal of people purely because of their illegal status deprives them of their inherent dignity … Last weekend, Leo celebrated a special Holy Year Mass for migrants, denouncing the “coldness of indifference” that migrants desperate to flee violence and suffering often face.”
The Pew Research Center documents 80% of the 53,000,000 American Catholics support Pope Leo certainly about his teaching on Jesus and, yes, on his support of our immigrants.
We can assume Pope Leo would approve for Catholics to attend our No Kings rally in Albert Lea at 10 a.m. Saturday in New Denmark Park. See you there. OK to bring a sign with your personal message to show those who drive by the rally.
