‘There’s no way to live here’: Gazans return home • FRANCE 24 English
This is what Palestinians are returning to. Buildings have been leveled. Entire neighborhoods have been erased. Two years of Israeli bombings has turned homes into dust. My house, which I built 40 years ago, was gone in a moment. There’s no one left for me. All my brothers are gone. Marty, and my nephews have all been martyed. What’s left in the world? And then it is day two of the ceasefire and already hundreds of thousands of people have made the trek back to Gaza City. As they make their way through the rubble trying to salvage what they can, many are saying the scale of destruction is unimaginable. There’s no way to live here, neither for the young nor the old. It’s not possible. There’s not even water, which is the only thing that allows people to live in a place. Yet, some carry a will that cannot be broken. This woman’s house is gone, but all is not lost. This is my daughter’s toy. I pulled it out from under the rubble. Now, when she asks for a toy, I’ll give her this. I’m happy it survived. On Israel’s side, they have begun transferring hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in preparation for the release of hostages still held in Gaza. The exchange set to begin by Monday is one aspect of the 20point peace plan that is making ground, but other sticking points still remain. Contrary to two key Israeli conditions, a Hamas official said Saturday the group’s disarmament is out of the question and they are opposed to foreign guardianship of the enclave. A surge of aid is also expected, but humanitarian groups are urging Israel to open more crossings. They say a ceasefire is not enough to meet the desperate demand. Got to win it.
Hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians have made the long trek back to Gaza City. But many have arrived stunned to find their homes turned to dust. A surge of aid is also expected, but humanitarian organisations are urging Israel to open more crossings, saying that rehabilitating the region will take more than a ceasefire. Is this not a war crime?
Why don't you call it out as it is??
Was it worth it?
American tax dollars
They started and now they bag for pity.
It aint over as long as nazinato is involved
How’s this different than any other war where they bomb your house…..?
😢😢😢😢
Bacon sandwiches anyone?
Well, I guess French taxpayers are going to have to pay to rebuild Gaza…. because don't expect American taxpayers to do it
Sounds like Hamas propaganda
How touching, her child's doll she salvaged….really touching…..makes me remember the Bebo baby the Hamas terrorists strangled to death….killed his brother and mother…..wonder who has their toys???
هذه جرائم حرب
How did the gaza get the bullets for their guns all these years. Bullets are a complex craft. Building a AK is one thing, but making the bullets for it would not be possible in gaza.
How many of them celebrated Hamas 10.7 massacre? Now they are crying for what their supporting organization's has assigned to them!
That's what happens when your terrorist society votes terrorist psychopathic thugs into power and you shield them in their underground bomb shelters where you know innocent hostages are being abused.
I have no sympathy for these islamofascist cavemen. Regards from Ireland 💚😘
How would you like to be treated like that poor children and husband and mothers put your self in thereplace
