  5. Saw someone say it’s actually the rapture, but He’s taking fewer than originally thought.

  6. It’s the meridian / Greenwich laser and it’s foggy… always there.

  7. If this was New York this wouldn’t be a good sign, plenty of blue rays from the sky hitting New York in movies

  8. The Chancery Rosewood Hotel opening at Grosvenor Square. Apparently someone found the hidden stash of laser weapons leftover from the US embassy.

  9. Isn’t this what happens when someone loses a game in Alice in borderlands? Maybe the uk version has blue laser instead or red.

  10. I thought we moved past sky beams at the end of every movie

  11. It’s almost certainly “Breathing”, a memorial sculpture on the roof of the BBC’s Broadcasting House in London. The sculpture emits a vertical beam of light into the sky each evening at 10 pm for about 30 minutes. The beam can reach as high as approx 900 m. It’s a memorial to journalists and media staff who died in the course of their work. At its core it commemorates journalists, camera operators and media workers who died while reporting the news. The artist Jaume Plensa conceived it as a breath made visible, a pure vertical exhalation of light. The title Breathing captures the moment when a person’s last breath leaves their body and joins the air shared by everyone. Each night at 10 pm, when BBC Radio 4 airs the day’s roll call of the dead, the beam rises, a luminous gesture of remembrance shared across the sky.
