A self-styled “survivalist” joined forces with with a shamed far-right campaigner as he whipped up anti-asylum protests in a Scots town.

Peter Parker Yuill campaigned in his home town of Kilmarnock, telling people that locals kids were being filmed by perverts. Despite offering no evidence, Yuill claimed children were being systematically targeted in parks by foreign strangers.

Painter and decorator Yuill, 39, appeared in an online video with far-right campaigner John Watt, who planned an anti-immigrant rally in Glasgow to protest against immigration.

Watt ended up swerving the demo on September 20 after he was exposed in the Daily Record as being a convicted domestic abuser. In the video interview featuring Yuill, recorded at a Kilmarnock park where men had supposedly been filming kids, Yuill says: “I’m not going to be feart to say that it’s certain types of folk that are doing this. Certain stuff.

“I’m not racist but what is their reason for going into the parks in the first place if they haven’t got a wean with them? Why are they sitting filming our kids? You don’t see anybody actually from here going in to the parks and filming the weans.”

Yuill points to a nearby park and tells Watt one is a “main hub” for people filming children. He says: “That’s one of the main hubs people are coming to and doing this kind of stuff – and that’s why we met here.”

One source said: “Watt did a long podcast in which Yuill was the star of the show. He was banging on and on about paedophiles targeting Kilmarnock and loitering around local parks. He was also going on about how he’s not a racist, which made it clear he was targeting specific groups with his scaremongering.

“What is scary here is that people in towns and cities in Scotland are gathering isolated incidents and hearsay and presenting a narrative that suggests gangs of asylum seekers and muslims are specifically targeting kids. It is just breeding racism and people like Watt, in particular, with anti-immigration obsessions, are a threat to the stability of communities.”

During a rally organised by Yuill in Kilmarnock town centre, he set up in front of a blue and white Saltire, with “Protect Our Kids” scrawled on it. Again, he insisted he is not racist but told all passers-by of the importance to protect kids from imminent danger.

In other videos on Tik-Tok, Yuill has showcased his “bushcraft”, along with culinary and camping out skills – which led one vlogger to label him “Scotland’s top survivalist”. One video features Yuill telling followers how to survive a night in a Scottish woodland with only a tent, a campfire and a frying pan – along with diced lamb bought from a supermarket and a jar of ready-made curry sauce.

The anti-paedophile rally was organised by Yuill in April. Watt organised the “Unity Rally” in Glasgow last month, aligning with the London event run by Tommy Robinson, to highlight public anger at Britain’s migrant crisis.

The demo outside Buchanan Galleries saw hundreds of people waving Saltires and Union Flags. Ayrshire MSP Siobhian Brown MSP last night said: “Scotland has a proud history of supporting people who have chosen to make their lives here and I will continue to challenge misinformation wherever it arises and stand firmly against those who try to exploit it for political gain.”
