  1. Why is it that whenever these kind of articles about these kind of topics pop up the first commenters are always the fifth columns?

Is this shit your job? Do you guys have nothing better to do? It almost feels like you’re getting paid to-

    Oh wait.

  2. Lol Israeli bots spawned, all appeared in just 7 minutes after the post was created

  3. EU citizen treated like animals by a supposed “ally”. Strange how everyone goes quite as soon as one of our own get treated like this. Both the Swedish and the EU should speak up, but they’re staying quite so far. Good to know we have them looking out for us.

  4. > Aftonbladet’s investigation shows how the Foreign Ministry downplayed the abuse in its communications.

    *Accusations* of abuse

Where is this investigation showing any proof of the accusations such that the ministry should have repeated whatever the detained activists claim 1:1?

Of course they can choose to simply believe everything the activists say, on principle, but I don’t need a shallow “investigation” to decide I simply believe either the activists or Israel no matter what.

Edit: Btw, since this usually comes up whenever something like Bild, Sun, Krone, Blick is posted: Aftonbladet is a tabloid, too. Editorially close to the opposition (Social Democrats). Explains why this article is as much about her flat as it is about “investigating” whatever. If one believes a tabloid whenever they agree with one’s priors, don’t blame the other side of doing the same.

Edit: Ironically all the Greta fans claim Israeli bots dominate here yet I get downvoted. People have different opinions and not everyone trusts whatever she says. Get used to it. Even more ironically, all these bot accusations coming up every time on certain topics by users who don’t argue any further is the most bot-esque behavior I see here.

  5. Israeli will forever be remembered as genocidal torturers.

  6. Israel continues copycating russians in every possible way. That’s just disgusting

  7. Anyone remember when the hasbarists who frequent this sub insisted that “Israel will just give her a sandwich and fly her home”?. I wonder what line they’ve been given this time.

  8. So when it comes to questionable or unverifiable information that might make Israel look good, it’s discarded.

But the moment something makes Palestine looks good that can’t be verified – in this case because the person saying it isn’t exactly impartial, it’s treated as absolute fact.

    That is hypocrisy.

  9. This smells like 99% bullshit to me because it would be extremely stupid of the Israeli army to treat one of the most prominent activists of our time like shit. There is no way they would let that happen.

Also, I am sure if she actually got to Gaza her stay would have been more unpleasant by the locals/hamas.

Bring on the downvotes, ofc everyone that doesn’t blindly support hamas is a israeli bot.

  10. Assuming it’s true, why doesn’t she shows the bruising?

    It would silence most people.

  11. The article makes clear that the Swedish government and embassy pretty much did nothing for our citizens. And tried to downplay the treatment Greta received.

  12. Is it possible to believe someone is promoting a good cause and calling out war crimes…

“Greta Thunberg needs to eat something and heats up a pot of beans from the fridge. On the kitchen counter are beets and other vegetables from a recent dumpster diving trip: discarded food from grocery store containers, salvaged and brought here.”

And also believe that as a person they are absolutely insufferable?

  13. Surprise surprise Israeli fascist bots out here full force defending their genocide of Palestine and attacking Greta for the “crime” of trying to bring food to starving civilians…

  14. How is that kind of behavior by the IDF different from Nazi behavior?

  15. – Greta lied in a story about a Palestinian Hamas influencer getting killed by other Palestinian militants as if he was killed by Israel.
    – Greta lied in her post by showing a picture of an Israeli starved hostage as if he’s Palestinian.

We have no reason to think she doesn’t lie about this aswell, that girl has been so brain broken and manipulated it’s frankly sad.

  16. > “it was freezing cold”

in israel in october? yeah right lmao

  17. Next time she comes to Israel, she is gonna have enough points to upgrade to premium economy on the deportation flight.

  18. I am sort of suprised that they kept Greta with everyone else of the Flotilla – you would think that such a high profile asset like her would be detained seperately.

But then again exactly nothing that happened here makes a lot of logical sense.

  19. Show the bruises then?

Why the fuck would Israel, who have all their eyes on them, show any signs of torture on these people?

I highly doubt this. But please Greta, prove me wrong. Show the bruises and scars.

  20. If Israel can be part of Eurovision and UEFA, then discussing Israel should be allowed on here.

  21. Did anybody actually read the article before spouting random denying comments?

  22. They could make a fortune selling that video if its true.

  23. Greta is arguably the most famous activist in the world today. Isreal could’ve used this opportunity to treat her and the other international activist with dignity, respect and common decency. But, when you’re used to murdering, raping and torturing people with impunity why would you change now?

  24. Cruelty is the point. Next time they’ll kill her and they will get away with it.

  25. The IDF ran a tank through a UN peacekeeper camp.

The IDF opened fire on an EU delegation in Libanon.

The IDF detained EU citizens, in international waters, and are subjecting them to human rights violations. For the crime of… protesting what the UN declared to be a genocide.

… But Im sure you have great reasons to pretend Israel shouldnt be treated like the enemy they act like.

  26. Hating on Greta has become the new rightwinger hobby. Israel again shows how an asshole country they are and I hope the day of reckoning is not too far.

  27. My god these comments

Is this becoming /WorldNews with all the Israeli bots

  28. This is a good initiaivate where former/current IDF can speak out about the treament of Palestinians:

I saw a TED from the guy who set it up and he was saying how Israel was addicted to occupation and it was being enabled by the US and European states and it was destroying the country.

  29. This is genuinely one of the fakest stories I’ve read lmao

Says she was kicked repeatedly, but her face shows no signs of bruising. Posed picture perfect with the bag To show all the writing on her bag, conveniently non of which is in Hebrew (and if you know Israelis, they’d definitely write in hebrew)

From the beggining this whole flottila was nothing more than a propaganda effort. There was barely any aid on the ships, and they refused multiple attempts by the UN, WCK and even the pope to deliver the aid through proper channels because this was never about the aid, it was about creating a provocation.

  30. …and that is why she can not go to Gaza and protest against Hamas killing Palestinians.

  31. So Israel is now basically doing piracy by intercepting boats in international waters and then tortures the people they kidnapped. Why is anyone defending this country again?

  32. > Greta Thunberg and several others from the flotilla are now sharing details about their five days in Israeli captivity – and how Swedish Foreign Ministry staff left them without help.

The Swedish embassy may have been lazy and useless. But what do you expect them to do? They have a bunch of real cases with real issues like sickness and here you have a group of Swedes who were warned many times over to not do this and still did. And now they expect the embassy staff to save them and deal with the small water and food issues over 2 days?

The embassy staff could not have shown up at all and I still wouldn’t blame them.
