Hello, I recently accepted an Internship in Germany. I got this position by networking in a company I worked at the US. The German facility I got the job with normally doesn’t take US interns and is unfamiliar with supporting Visas in Germany. This position would be from February 1st through July 31st. Based on my internet research, it appears I need to get a residence permit before I can begin working there. It looks like I would need to do this by applying for a visa and going to a German consulate location in the US. My main question is, I don’t know which visa to apply for? I looked on this website: https://www.germany.info/us-en/service/visa/residence-visa/922288?openAccordionId=item-2435482-1-panel#content_0

And it looks like I don’t fit the bill for any of those specific visas. I do not have a University degree yet, I am still a student. All of these seem to require a university degree or another condition, I don’t fill. Does anyone know what I should do to find this information? I am stressed about the time frame that I would want to get this Visa in. It seems really bs to me that I have to get an in person appointment with the consulate in order to do this. I tried emailing the consulate and they just pointed me to their website. I am going to email them again and call if I can next week, but based on google it looks like they are only open for 3 hours and I can’t call them during work.

Let me know if I can clarify anything better, I apologize for the big wall of text.
