France adapts its military response to aerial incursions • FRANCE 24 English
It’s the flagship of French air defense, the Mamba interception system. The French army are carrying out a simulation of an airspace intrusion. Here we can see that we are being attacked by three fighter jets in formation that have been classified in advance. The first leader who was here has been destroyed. We’re waiting for the result on the other two. In this scenario, the order was given to destroy the planes using these Astro missiles, the largest French interception missiles. We’re capable of firing several missiles at very short intervals at several targets at the same time. Until then, in the event of an intrusion, the doctrine was only to escort the aircraft away. This is what NATO did with Russian fighters in Estonia a few weeks ago, but France says it no longer rules out shooting them down as a way of flexing its muscles. This has lent credibility to the threat and shows France’s determination to intervene and protect its airspace and sovereignty. For us, of course, this is very real as we train for this every day. It’s our job. Equipped with a high performance radar, the Mamba has proven itself in Ukraine. delivered to the Ukrainian army. It has enabled them to intercept the large shy drones that Russia produces by the thousands, but it’s not suitable for smaller drones. It’s too expensive. In fact, it would be absurd. It’s like making a mountain out of a mole hill. It’s completely ridiculous. run. As a result, the French army also trains with weapons of a completely different caliber. During their maneuvers, when faced with small drones, these soldiers practice with wave jamming rifles called NeroS. They’ve been in service for 3 years. They allow the user to block the drone for a short time so that the rest of the operators can destroy it with fire. The army also recycles older weapons such as this 20 mm cannon which uses artificial intelligence to intercept drones or it invents new ones with manufacturers such as this laser which destroys them from a distance.
As European countries face a growing security threat from Russia, armies are adapting to incursions. Until recently, in the event of an intrusion, the doctrine was only to escort the aircraft away. But France says it no longer rules out shooting them down as a way of flexing its muscles. Our colleagues at France 2 looked into how the French army is training to adapt its response.

If all that money was spent on diplomacy and cience we would have flying cars by now….
Has money on wars but can't fix their pension system?
those drones cannot fly thousands of kilometers, wherever they hit and explode the operator cannot be too far away, the truth is that there are psychopaths willing to hurt their own people
😂😂😂😂😂
Do you bear to poke the bear?
I don't think so.
