But yet, a protest, no matter how large, on a weekend, solves nothing. No corporations will be hurt when their workers take to the streets on their day off. Not until protests of this (hopefully large) size happen during the work week and shit actually gets shut down and bottom lines are impacted will the people who financially support this fascist regime even notice.

Of course. Also one of the biggest effects of large scale protests is that people who might otherwise have felt alone can see that, yes, other people feel the same way. All kinds of other people, from every demographic and from many different locations.
If all you are exposed to is news that manipulates the story and your limited group of friends and family, many of whom may be avoiding taking about politics, you can feel like you’re alone, or in a small minority.
But if 10,000, 50,000, 100,000, or even just a single person with a sign standing on the street corner, you know you’re not alone.
