Finland will provide Ukraine with the 30th package of military aid worth 52 million euros

Finland has announced the provision of another, 30th, package of defense assistance to Ukraine. The decision was made on Friday, October 17. It was approved by the country’s President Alexander Stubb at the proposal of the government.

This is stated on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of Finland.

The total cost of the new package is about 52 million euros. It will mainly consist of new orders from Finnish defense companies. At the same time, the department noted that the total amount of military assistance to Ukraine from Helsinki has already reached 2.9 billion euros.

“Regarding the size of its economy, Finland is one of the countries that has supported Ukraine the most. This week we also announced our participation in NATO’s PURL initiative, which procures weapons systems that are critical to Ukraine from the United States. The future of a free and secure Europe will be decided in Ukraine – this requires perseverance and resilience from all allies,” said Defense Minister Antti Häkkinen.

We will remind that in the spring of 2025, the Finnish Ministry of Defense launched a special program to support Ukraine through the purchase of Finnish defense industry products. Its goal is to meet the critical needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ensure the suitability of the necessary weapons, and support national production.

The ministry also emphasized that when making the decision to provide a new package of military assistance, both the needs of Ukraine and the resources of its own armed forces were taken into account.

As previously reported, Finland announced its intention to join NATO’s PURL initiative , which involves the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine. Helsinki also announced a new package of military assistance.
