The Bank of Italy said Friday that it
has cut its growth forecast for the Italian economy for next
year from 0.8 to 0.6%.
It said it expects Italy’s GDP to rise 0.6% this year, the same
as it forecast in June.
The central bank said a sharp decline in exports contributed to
a slight drop in GDP in the second quarter of 2025.
It said the economy started to expand again, albeit moderately,
in the summer.
The forecast for 2026 did not take into account the measures in
the government’s budget bill.
