  1. This is so sad. Idaho retirees shouldn’t need forced to pay sky-high premiums because of political games. Protecting healthcare access is non-negotiable–we need leaders who prioritize people over party.

  2. Not to worry. The Qatari muslims Trump invited to Idaho will make it great again.

  3. Idaho voted 66.9% for Trump, 30.4% for Harris in the last presidential election. Be careful what you ask for…you just might get it.

  4. Will be submitting “premiums soar 4,275%” for the stupidest prize of ’25.

  5. The McMichaels in the article believe that all subsidies are ending, not just enhanced subsidies. They won’t see a 4,275% increase given their $42k income. I’d like to know how they voted though.

  6. And before they die due to lack of healthcare, they will see the first trillionaire.

We live in the worst timeline.

  7. Michael Crapo and James Risch, Republican Idaho senators have been in office for decades. Contact them and demand their support.

  8. Didn’t MAGAs promote the propaganda that Democrats are subsidizing illegals?

  9. We need actual affordable healthcare. Obamacare isn’t affordable.

  10. Welcome to not being subsidized like the rest of us!

  11. What’s up with that article? Americans use periods not commas.

This feels like a bot post with bot comments.

  12. You don’t have to fix healthcare is no one has healthcare (2025 GOP position)

  13. Fuck Idaho, one of the more shitty red states. Let them burn

I’m crying. No I really am.

  15. But the big beautiful bill doesn’t go into effect until next year

  16. I wouldn’t be surprised if the couple the article centers on spent their lives living under Republican thumbs, watching as the wealth in their state was slowly transferred out of their hands and into the pockets of the 1%, only to somehow think electing the same fools to national office would somehow be different.

  17. Non private healthcare is socialism.

    – average 2024 American voter

  18. All politicians supporting commercial healthcare can go kiss my ass! My employer sponsored healthcare went from $1150/mo for the family plan in 2020 to $2300 a month with open enrollment that started a couple days ago. That’s $27,600 a year for those of you bad at math. Thank god I moved to Costa Rica, my insurance here is $500 a month, same coverage almost exactly. But guess what, my out of pocket is far less! The hospitals are state of the art. I don’t have to go to a doctor to get a prescription for most non-narcotic drugs, and you know how long it takes to get seen here? Doctors are usually same day or next day. A few high end specialists can be a week or two. Emergency rooms? Haven’t waited in one yet. Between wife and kids we’ve had 3 ER visits since we moved here and there has never been line.

My eldest daughter who still lives in the states came to visit a couple months ago. She has some health problems and ended up having to take an ambulance. Guess how much that cost? $35!

The “American” healthcare system is nothing but a money fleecing racket.

  19. Sounds good to me. They wanted to raise the age of retirement or possibly do away with it anyways. Congrats, you’ll work until you’re dead. The manufacturing jobs we’re allegedly bringing back home will need manual labor at a low wage, so apply whenever those roles open.

  20. Following the shocking notice, the couple wrote to Sen. Mike Crapo, R-Idaho

    A Crapo, what a name …

  21. And yet, they will vote for republican party in the next election.

  22. Probably going to see a lot of americans run for the border…for medical and medication since its simply not possible to afford it here. It costs more than food and rent now.
