A collision between an elderly pensioner and a car occurred in the car park

A pensioner has died after a horror car crash outside an Iceland store in the Midlands.

The 86-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the collision, which took place in the supermarket’s car park.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and took the woman to hospital but she could not be saved.

She was pronounced dead in the early hours of Wednesday, October 15.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward to help them with their investigation.

Anyone with dashcam footage is urged to ‘come forward immediately’.

Detective Constable Liah Lane, of Nottinghamshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “The woman’s family is being supported by specialist officers following this tragic incident.

“They have asked for privacy at what must be an extremely difficult time.

“If you were a witness, or if you captured it on dash-cam or other footage, we want to hear from you, as this information could really assist our inquiries.”

The collision took place in Iceland, Nuthall Road, Aspley, at 2.20pm on Monday, October 13.

Call police with information on 101, quoting incident 376 of October 13.
