Colorado Springs police are searching for a group of teenage males involved in the stabbing and assault of a store employee on South Nevada Avenue late Friday night.

According to an online police report, shortly before 11 p.m. an employee at a business in the 1800 block of South Nevada Avenue, near Southgate Road, reported a stabbing.

Officers learned that a group of juvenile males, between the ages of 13 and 18, were stealing merchandise. The store employee was stabbed by one of the juveniles after confronting the group; police said another one of the juveniles physically assaulted the employee.

The juveniles, who were wearing dark clothing, fled on foot and were not located, according to police.

Police did not provide the condition of the employee, or the number of suspects involved. Police also did not disclose the name of the business in the online report.
