A new Hallmark film is being filmed in Malta by ‘Smallville’ director Kevin Fair, the Ministry for Culture, Lands, and Local Government stated on Sunday.
Minister Owen Bonnici alongside Film Commissioner Johann Grech visited the set of a Hallmark film which is being filmed entirely in Malta, with the filming having been conducted in various localities, including in Marsaxlokk, Birgu, and Valletta, the Ministry stated.
The ministry said that the American film is being shot in Malta during the months of September and October, and added that this is another production that came to the country due to the Cash Rebate programme, among other factors.
Bonnici said that the production has had strong cooperation with Maltese professionals and also spoke of its positive economic impact. He said that the majority of the crew involved in the production were Maltese, which he commented is a clear sign of the talent and professionalism that is present in Malta.
He said that the production has given priority to local professionals, and spoke of the positive economic impact that such projects bring with them. He said that productions of this level strengthen Malta’s reputation as a creative and competitive destination.
