Yemen’s Houthi authorities have detained about two dozen United Nations employees after raiding another UN-run facility in the capital Sanaa, the UN has confirmed.
Jean Alam, spokesperson for the UN’s resident coordinator in Yemen, said staff were detained inside the compound in the city’s Hada district on Sunday.

Yemenis are desperately reliant on aid from these organizations, the sooner the Houthis let them resume normal operations the better. It is disheartening to see impartial UN employees detained without justification, many of them go there in the hopes of helping people and are treated with suspicion by locals because of stuff like this. The WFP is a great program, I’ve used their app before (Share the Meal) and you can see the impact they have in the region through their food aid.
