In April 2021, a 20-year-old woman accused Branco of raping her after having given her the drug lamaline.[^([b])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Branco#cite_note-17) Branco said the sex was consensual.[^([16])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Branco#cite_note-18) Branco was then investigated by the Paris Bar for having published confidential details of the case on [X](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twitter). In October 2024, he was banned from practising for three years, of which 2 years 3 months were suspended. The toppling of Gaddafi should honestly be considered one of the greatest crimes of this century. Not only did it destroy a country but it also enabled all of this horror and I sincerely hope that European leaders who have been exploiting it will face justice, but I’m not holding my breath.
