  1. Government Michel I worked very hard it seems. Was that the point you wanted to make?

  2. It’s maybe better to count the activity rate and not the unemployment one as people are being thrown out of unemployment benefits

  3. Is this the FOURTH post you made about this? What is your point? You don’t even seem to be commenting about anything?

  4. I really hate charts where the bottom isn’t 0. I can understand it if you are looking at small changes of large numbers, but if the max is 10% the bottom should be 0.

  5. Macroeconomically, you’re only unemployed if you’re looking for a job. People who are not looking for a job are not unemployed. You know what I mean.

  6. And that’s not thanks to BDW govt, it was already happening before it took office.

Make sure to remember that when Bartje will try to pretend it’s all because of his austerity policies.

Also… this isn’t a sign of a healthy economy FYI.

  7. Let’s now talk over the country debt, increasing inflation, decreasing quality of life, and the unsustainable social support system.

  8. I can speak from my experience. I am Portuguese and I moved to Belgium 3 years ago. In the first month of being in Belgium I found a job, in which I still work for. I work in a store selling clothing and shoes. Yes I had a better position in Portugal but here I get triple the money. So I do my job and go home. In these 3 years that I work in this place, the team has shifted continuously, apart from 4 or 5 employees. People put sick leave after one week of work, people just don’t show up, people make everything to be fired from the company and start earning benefits. I have heard this from colleagues myself. Of course if you are actually sick or if you get unluckily unemployed, it is great to have so many benefits, but unfortunately what I can see is a lot of people abusing the system.

  9. Ergens rond 2015 hebben ze de Walen beginnen meetellen

  10. Active population chart is even more relevant.

  11. Only part of the story. People who don’t work and aren’t looking for work aren’t counted as unemployed.

  12. Kun je het zo nog kwalijk nemen? Waarom zou iemand überhaupt werken, wanneer je op het eind van de maand ongeveer hetzelfde overhoudt als iemand die een uitkering ontvangt?
