Pop’s reigning free spirit has done it again. Miley Cyrus is the face of Vogue France’s November issue, and she’s giving elegance, honesty, and a little Château Marmont magic while doing it.

Photographed by Mario Sorrenti with an incredible hairstyle by Shay Ashual, the shoot took place at the iconic Los Angeles landmark, a spot Miley says she loves for its sense of nostalgia and Hollywood energy. Vogue France describes her perfectly: “An old soul in a modern world, a musical and emotional chameleon.”

Inside, Miley opens up about her current state of mind, creative process, and the happiness she’s found in balance. “The last five years have been pivotal,” she says. “Since 2021, I’ve kept evolving, but without struggle. I follow two approaches in life: one where I control everything and another where I let destiny take over.”

She also shared that she’s deep in creative mode again, constantly writing new music, even in her car. So yes, besties, a “Malibu 2.0” could be on the horizon, lol!

When asked about performing, Miley spoke about the intimacy of smaller venues versus massive stadium shows. “It’s very hard to recreate the emotion of those intimate venues in packed stadiums,” she told the magazine. “Putting on a show is great, but I want to savor the moment too! In that sense, the venue is key.”

The issue also dives into her close relationship with her mom, Tish: “When I write, I always think of her, and she’s the first person I play my songs for. We’re each other’s muse in a way.”

And for longtime Smiler, Miley’s reflections on her discography are everything. She also revealed that Bangerz and Dead Petz remain her most meaningful albums, as they marked her first steps outside of Disney and label control. “They were the first real proposals that were completely mine,” she says.

Elegant, grounded, and more authentic than ever, this is Miley Cyrus in her truest form. Vogue France’s November issue featuring Miley hits newsstands and online on November 23rd.
