On October 20, as a result of a Russian drone strike on an energy facility, the northern part of Chernihiv region was left without electricity. In one of the communities of the region, damage to critical infrastructure was recorded. The information was confirmed by the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.

Responding to the water supply situation, Chernihivvodokanal urged people to stock up on drinking water in advance, as temporary water supply interruptions in Chernihiv could occur in the near future. According to the utilities, in case of a blackout, the maximum pressure in the city water supply will be maintained according to the schedule: from 6:00 to 10:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00.

The lower floors of multi-story buildings in the city are currently supplied with water.
Consequences of the blackout and actions by services
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, due to the lack of voltage in the network, a number of suburban trains in Chernihiv region are running with delays. Thus, train No. 6857 Chernihiv – Slavutych deviated from the timetable with a delay of about 37 minutes; train No. 6312 Chernihiv – Nizhyn departed with a delay of about 55 minutes; train No. 6311 Nizhyn – Chernihiv – with a delay of more than an hour. Passengers are advised to heed announcements and confirm departure times, as delays may change.
