  1. They were working on it today during the shutdown. $250 million dollar ballroom draped in gold. A divided polarized country and it’s government being dismantled. People about to lose food stamps and healthcare. The metaphors are endless.

    Jesus Fucking christ…

UPDATE: As if it wasn’t bad enough. . Fox is saying it’s being constructed with dark money! Which means he is going around Congress.

Statement on the Proposed Ballroom Addition at the White House from Society of Architectural Historians:

And to top it all off. This is where the Office of the First Lady is located. Melania already boxed all her shit up.

  2. The Führer needing more *lebensraum*, colorized.

  3. I love that the article claims that the windows were removed but I can see the windows being destroyed *right there in the picture*. Get used to this, guys. They’ll tear it all down before it’s done. They. Are. Building. A. Palace.

  4. If you need an image that helps illustrate Trump’s transformation into a dictator, look no further than the juxtaposition between photos of the hideously gilded Oval Office, models of his gaudily decorated ballroom and descriptions of detainment centers which depict such horrid living conditions for inmates that they resemble concentration camps.

Trump and his supporters remain wilfully unaware of the cognitive dissonance, the irony, the hypocrisy—whatever you want to call it—after complaining incessantly about their own political persecution at the hands of their “radical left,” “deep state” overlords for years.

And all while they ignore (or outright endorse) Trump’s unconstitutional whims, his abuses of executive power, his militarization of domestic policy and his weaponization of practically every government agency and tool at his disposal to crush dissent, punish his political opponents, and incarcerate and terrorize entire populations of people.

  5. Has that crime in DC he mentioned gone down yet? Because if it hasn’t, I’m not certain that holding balls there is a good idea.

  6. I, for one, welcome the addition of the Jeffrey Epstein Memorial Ballroom to your national residence. What better way to remember the perversion and corruption that took over your country. It will stand as a memorial to why you shouldn’t elect pedophiles and conmen to the highest office.

  7. Love how it’s the “Conservatives” that are literally demolishing the White House, a symbol of America.

  8. I think it’s pretty obvious that he wants a bigger ballroom to host larger corruption parties. I know he and his supporters like to talk about a third term just to make people angry, but deep down Trump knows that once he’s out of office the GOP are going to toss his family aside just like they did to the Bush family. So he’s gotta make as much money as possible while he’s in office because that’s the only thing that’s going to protect him and his family when he’s out of office and a new justice department gets up and running.

  9. Fucking piece of shit. No respect or even understanding of the office he occupies.

  10. He isn’t building a ballroom just so he can leave it for next person after 3 years . He definitely planning to stay

  11. What a waste of money. Especially the cost to change it all back and remove the stain from history once he is out

  12. No one builds a ballroom on/at a residence they plan on leaving

  13. Are maga even okay with this? Its a huge slap in the face to anyone with pride of being an American

  14. He’s building a 90,000 sqft ballroom which is not needed because the WH already has plenty of space.

I live in a 900 sqft house and I actually work for a living.

Fucking “let them eat cake.” That guy is an asshole.

  15. This is a disgrace. No surprise. He’s crapping all over America.

  16. What a waste of government money. I hope the next president turns it into a homeless shelter.

  17. Welcome to the Grifthouse. Private guestlists. 50k per plate . “Donations in Trump coin only” . No cash refunds!

  18. Trump lied (per usual) a few weeks ago he said “It won’t interfere with the current building (the East Wing building). It won’t be. It’ll be near it but not touching it — and pays total respect to the existing building, which I’m the biggest fan of. It’s my favorite. It’s my favorite place. I love it.'”

  19. How can this delusional egoist just destroy Our White House Complex???
    To what end?

  20. The audacity this traitor has, to just destroy everything good in america. Its a perfect example of how is destroying this great country

  21. Once again, every, single elected GOP lawmaker- this is *yours*.

You’re either cowering under your desks OR cheering it on, but it’s not just the towering ball ‘o sludge in what’s left of the White House.

Really hope none of you think we’ll forget.

  22. Can’t wait for the contractor not to be paid. 😂

  23. This historical building is being treated like a MOTEL FUCKING 6.

I want out of this cursed timeline.

  24. I hope the next Pres demolishes the ballroom immediately after taking office. Don’t leave anything left standing that Trump builds.

  25. Can he even do that? Isn’t this like.. federal property? Historical landmark? Wouldn’t something like this need congressional approval?

  26. This mother fucker has no right to tear down a piece of history.

  27. Heather Cox Richardson suggested that this is the staff (Stephen Miller and Russell Vought) distracting Donald Trump with something he likes (Real Estate Development, see also the Gaza resort project and the proposed DC Arch) so that they can carry out their own agendas.

  28. Let’s play a game

What would coverage look like on Fox News if Obama shut down the government and then used excavators to demolish the White House to build a ballroom so he could throw parties.

The only rule is, you have to reference the rapper Common or you lose the game.

  29. Is the structure not heritage listed? How can he just knock down parts of a building with this level of cultural significance?
