ZAGREB, 21 October 2025 – President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, today received the credentials of the newly appointed United States Ambassador to Croatia, Nicole McGraw.
The official ceremony took place at the Office of the President in Zagreb, marking the formal start of Ambassador McGraw’s diplomatic mission in Croatia.
“I am honored to represent the United States in Croatia, a valued Ally and friend,” said Ambassador McGraw. “Under President Trump’s leadership, I look forward to working with Croatian leaders and citizens to strengthen our shared security as NATO allies, enhance enhance energy security for the region, and promote economic growth for both our nations. I am thrilled to join our outstanding Embassy team in Zagreb and eager to deepen the friendship between the United States and Croatia.”
Ambassador McGraw was accompanied by her husband Michael McGraw, daughter Elizabeth Merrill, Deputy Chief of Mission and First Secretary Lauren Perlaza, and United States Defence Attaché, Brigadier Scott McLearn.

Ambassador McGraw is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and leader in international collaboration at the intersection of art, technology, and business.
Prior to her appointment, she served as President of Nicole Henry Fine Arts Consulting, Inc., where she led an internationally recognized art gallery and became one of the first American gallerists to collect and exhibit Cuban art.

Ambassador McGraw, founder of CANVAS Art Charities, is a dedicated public servant recognized with the 2018 Muse Award for Outstanding Public Art.
With a background in art and public leadership studies at Harvard Kennedy School, she combines business, culture, and technology to advance U.S.–Croatia cooperation in defense, energy security, and economic growth.

Welcoming the new ambassador, President Milanović was joined by his Head of Cabinet Bartol Šimunić, Director of the Directorate for Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Tomislav Lendić, and Assistant Adviser to the President for Foreign and European Policy, Ivan Mutavdžić.
