Today I saw a reel “Iceland is the only place without mosquitoes”
Now I read this…
As a reminder, Iceland is the green one and Greenland is the icy one.
Still, nobody needs mosquitoes. Deploy the GMO mosquitoes, stat!
This is one of those headlines they would put in plague inc to let you know youre winning
All the cold places of our childhood will be the average temperature livable places of the future
I wonder… if it’s just a few so far, could they spend money to eradicate them quickly before they spread much? Or are they doomed to be filled with them in a few years?
Nooooooooooo the last bastion of freedom from that plague. God I hate mosquitoes
Mosquitoes are well known in many cold climates, including Arctic tundra. But they are generally only found on more remote islands if brought by humans via infestations on ships and such. That they have arrived in Iceland might be connected to climate change or it might be happenstance.
