Maybe I live some charmed existence at an easily found address but I’ve never had any issues with any courier. In fact Evri was one of the best, same old boy doing it part time who was really friendly and would leave things well hidden with a note though the door whenever we weren’t in.
I’ve had 3 Evri parcels in the last 2 years. 2 were delivered the day after they were supposed to be (and had delivery attempted on the status which was a lie) and the other arrived on time but was broken despite being wrapped in 8 inches of bubblewrap inside the box.
Evri are an absolute disaster. Last time I had them deliver a parcel they left it on a wall at the bottom of the drive in complete view of everyone walking past – didnt even both to walk 10 foot to the front door and try knocking
Evri parcel missing, better Yodel after the delivery driver, eh eh.
In other news, water confirmed to be wet.
Like my parcel. That was chucked over my fence. Into a puddle.
I’ve never had a parcel delivered by Evri successfully. I’ve been at my address for 3 years it always gets delivered to some other address and I have to deal with reporting it.
It is somewhat tricky to find but the other couriers seem to manage fine.
It depends on who you get to be fair. Our local Evri courier is a solid bloke who always knows where to meet and
Evri customer service on the other hand is an utter pig; their phone line used an automated operator which means you can’t speak to a human who can understand the tracking label you’re trying to read off.
Yodel I haven’t really dealt with in years but they’ve always been a mixed bag, a decade ago they left my mum’s parcel in a swampy bush behind our house then when she got a replacement delivered because it was missing they left a note saying “old parcel in bush” and by that point the contents (business cards) was waterlogged
Evri has so far 40% problematic/failed delivery rate to my address in L’pool, other couriers 0%. Latest issue – misplaced parcel at parcel hub, parcel delivered three days after my other order from China placed on the same day. I am activelly avoiding Evri, if I see seller is using them, I’ll order from somewhere else – even if it costs bit more.
E: Forgot to mention that the Evri parcel was from UK seller – arrived in 15 days.
I dont think yodel have ever managed to succsesfully deliver a parcel to me. If i see someone is using them i just shop elsewere.
Every parcel delivery from Yodal has had to be collected from the depot! About 5 miles away
I will pay extra for delivery to avoid Evri. I hate it when I order something and they don’t tell you it’s Evri. Like no, I wouldn’t have ordered it if shipped by Evri.
It’s fine lads, another couple of years to get good mileage out of the van branding and we can just change our name again for a fresh slate wrt public opinion.
In all seriousness I have found sending parcels with their label printers at Tesco’s for my eBay sales to be very very easy.
Just to balance the scales a bit – I get 1000s of parcels a year from all major couriers. Our Evri guy is awesome and really goes the extra mile. DPD, RM, Yodel are all good here as well. I suspect it’s partly because I’m in a fairly rural area, I’ll bet inner cities are a different story.
Whistl are my bad guys, they take weeks to deliver, if ever. Complete tossers.
I’ve never had a problem with either of them. Parcelforce on my first time using them was a fucking nightmare
My Evri driver is 100 times better than Royal Mail. Or worst they DHL who take on waaaay too many parcels and never deliver when they say they are or don’t leave the parcel in my safe place.
We used to have a really good Evri delivery person, really nice guy and always friendly.
Horrifically, he was killed a few years ago when someone tried stealing his van whilst he was on a delivery – and ended up dragging him down the road in tow.
Evri are legitimately a scam as far as I’m concerned. Not a single delivery that wasn’t stolen by them.
I can’t understand why they haven’t been taken apart by the standards watchdogs.
I dread getting a notification that evri will be delivering something I’ve ordered.
My *best* deliveries from them are a joint tie between when they ‘delivered’ a pair of headphones to my wheelie bin… on bin day. And a parcel they threw over a side gate/fence into some wasteland which had nothing to do with my house and that I couldn’t access.
We’ve been lucky that our evri guy is pretty good. Sure, he parks like a maniac and chain smokes, but he doesn’t mess around with the parcels and puts them in logical places
At this point it’s like comparing Boyzone tribute bands, it doesn’t matter which one you pick they are all terrible.
Does depend on your local representative. And on whether the guys in the warehouse/local office drop-kicked the box into the cage/van.
At this point we have to assume that shitness is actually corporate strategy.
One thing I’ve noticed about Evri is they don’t seem to have up to date mapping/addresses. They failed to deliver 2 things I’ve sold on eBay to relatively new builds, when the royal mail had no issues. You could say the delivery person should have shown a bit more initiative, but I fear that’s expecting too much.
Another vote for Evri being the most useful delivery company for me. The only ones who are consistent in being able to deliver to pickup points or to neighbours, or to leave in safe places.
Everyone else, whether it’s Royal Mail or DHL or whoever, is an absolute guess every single time. Redirections to shops don’t work, or they leave packages on the front step, or they will refuse to try neighbours for a type of delivery that allows it, I could go on.
Evri are shocking. I even leave notes on my door to say I’m in, please knock. The parcel always gets yeeted.
It’s always a disappointment when I learn something is coming by Evri.
I have only ever had a couple of things actually lost by them but have had frequent 1-2 week delays as things do seem to get easily lost in their own network. They also only deliver once a week where I am so it needs to be in the one driver’s hands on Monday morning for it to get here, if not then it will be a one week delay minimum.
Just a garbage service and it isn’t even that much cheaper than alternatives, I think they undercut Royal Mail Tracked 48 about £1 per parcel for example. I sell on ebay and would never even consider using them for this reason, while RM is not perfect I do find Tracked 48 (for example) to be a reliable service and good value on the whole.
My experience was – Evri pretending like they came over for delivery, when they have not. It has happened many times, though I am at home, I only get emails saying – “you were not at home when the delivery was attempted”
Maybe evri should change their name again to ditch the reputation they have once again
I’ve cancelled orders because I’ve seen that my order is being delivered by Evri. Knew an old driver back when it was Hermes.
Luckily I’ve had no issues with deliveries but I currently have 6 items about to be marked as “lost” by evri.
4 of them never updated on their system after being picked up from a locker by a driver.
2 of them never updated after the status showed they left a sorting facility.
from personal experience Evri is the worst, they dont delivery to the front door, some staff couriers lie, steal the parcels and their customer service is hard to deal with.
Just had a parcel turn up today which was posted on the 18th of September. I’d say typical Evri but it actually survived the journey unscathed so I’m pleasantly surprised.
I’ve only used Evri when buying off Vinted and I swear they deliberately set aside Vinted parcels for weeks because they know Vinted’s policy requires that buyers wait 25 business days before reporting an item missing. A number of them have turned up late with that refund date written on them in marker.
After waiting for an Ali Express order & watching the online tracking site Evri decided to return a package back to China just as it arrived near my address. After a bit of back & forward with an Evri rep they admitted that they had lost the parcel. Luckily I had a refund but Evri is next to impossible to get contact with. They even played the situation as not their fault & maybe the seller could gift me a replacement for the lost item….
This has to be a regional, delivery-driver-by-delivery-driver basis as we have never had any issues with our local Evri guy (top guy), nor the one we had before we moved (other side of the same town).
I shudder when I find out that I’ve got one if these 2 with my packages. At best, I’m going to go find it at the bottom of my stairs. About half the time they either deliver to the wrong address or just leave it in the street.
Zero customer service to find out where things are. They rebrand to escape their previous shit reputation, and pledge changes, but never ever get better.
When I accidentally buy from a company that uses these companies for delivery, I make a mental note to never buy from them again.
Calling them shit does an injustice to liquid slurry, white dog poo, big corn filled jobbies and looping archs of dysentery fuelled diarrhea. The absolute worst.
Evri used to be great when we had a local doing the rounds, unfortunately when he left, the depot have just been assigning a new driver each time. I always despair when a new comic is shipped from ebay us with evri as the courier over here.
