If the stock market takes a turn, or a national team doesn’t qualify for a World Cup, or the summer weather is crap, the President must be taken to a boggy field on the border between Dublin and Meath and ritually sacrificed. There’ll be even less candidates for election under the new (old) rules.
I’m pretty concerned about the Sauron situation, so he might be just what we need.

I think Brehon law was really advanced for the time. Very equal for women (well, at the time it was) and had laws for beekeeping and other elements.
Can’t see a Druid doing well in the contemporary era though. They would be too single-minded on environmental and religious issues (can’t see the wood for the trees!).
