Finally!
Hope an advance delivery so it can be tested against the orcs!
That’s a lot of Gripens, nice. The question is now how quickly Saab can churn these out and if Ukrainian pilots have already been trained for them.
Delivery of Swedish equipment seems more reliable than the taco kings weaponry.
Go Sweden!
how many different airplanes will ukraine have then? that cant be good for logistics and maintainance
Awesome for sweeden, ukraine and europe as a whole.
Why would Europe or America want this war to end anytime soon if theyre making tons on selling weapons AND Russia is strained economically?
Obviously politicians will appeal to the constituents and say it needs to end because of the death toll, but at the same time, this seems financially advantageous for everyone except Ukraine’s government and Russia’s government
Finland should follow suit.
I am not tracking everything in detail, but feels like the Nordic countries and the UK didn’t fail to support us even once yet.
It is an honor to have such friends.
Honest question. How does Ukraine have money left to buy anything? Seems like it’s all “loans” from other governments, at this poin, that’ll be “repaid” (inflate away) over the next 100 years. I guess that counts?
It will have to be Europe that helps. The USA can’t be trusted. Putin has some dirt on Trump, like many others. Biden didn’t give permission to use long range weapons either, and Crimea was annexed while Obama was in office. Just facts.
Does this statement mean that Ukraine will also build? Gripen aircraft?
“A letter of intent (LOI) is a preliminary document that outlines the terms and intentions of parties before they enter into a legally binding agreement.”
Like they expressed, they only need long term funding. Thats around 10 billion euros, just the for 100 jets.
I really dont see it happening, but its a crazy world and we all know there is the russian funds. The jets still need pilots, crews etc..
Good shit
I am so excited for them! God bless Sweden!
Nice!! Now, Canada, do the same. Drop the F35 paperweight and go on locally build Gripen.
FUCK YES FINALLY!!! This is absolutely huge news, only thing they miss is a couple of SAAB EriEye/GlobalEyes and they’ll have a rather strong airforce
I truly hope Ukraine uses them to wipe Russia off the map. ALL OF RUSSIA. But, I have to say how disappointed I was after Ukraine got F-16’s. Maybe I’ve watched too many movies, but I pictured them absolutely obliterating Russia’s front line troops with them. Didn’t happen.
Wow its like Swedish native people dont have enough problems having the rape capital…..
GG
This is huge!
Ohhhhh shitttttt, this is good news!
#Release The Gripens!
The JAS was built to meet the threats from Russia to begin with. They probably made the right choice with this.
Good deal Donald, good deal.
It is amazing to see how the increased spending on defence in Europe is going towards European industry.
That’s a ton of jet fighters man
Good choice. Gripens should be easier for maintainers than other western jets.
Canada needs to do the same. We need to get off of our additiction to the United States drug.
Hm, interesting as Ukraine dont officialy have Gripen. Thou its been reported, that Ukraine Pilots have tested and trained with the Gripen since 2023. But this just shows, what US industry misses out on. When they show they are not a reliable partner. But in this case I would say, that Gripen fits Ukraine, better in doctrine and budget.
Strategic decisions and delibery take time, but they need to be made regardless.
First steps have been taken and Ukraine will be better for it.
I’m happy for both countries
These news are great for Ukraine and great for Sweden both. The Grippen is gaining attention and popularity with other nations air forces because of its agility, low radar signature, and lower per hour operating cost.
Win Win news for the democratic world, to rolls royce engines and to Saab.
