Sweden and Ukraine sign letter of intent to supply up to 150 Gripen fighter jets
Swedish prime minister Ulf Kristersson said, in a press conference with Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, that Sweden and Ukraine had signed a letter of intent.

He said it was “not aimed at any new donations at the moment”, but was focused on a “longer term” connection. He said it would “us closer to an export deal with Saab and Ukraine”.

  2. Nice, but they still have to build them first, so maybe 2 or 3 years before they will be operational.

  3. Now that’s an air force

I know this is more long term (possibly post war)

But still that’s a serious thing to have!

  4. Could these get Ukraine air superiority, atleast above Ukraine or are they still shoot and run like the F-16s and Mirages?

  5. >“Next year could mark the start of Gripen operations,” said President Zelensky.

Come on now Volodomyr! As much as I’d like to see the Swedish steel bite the Muscovite bear, we just took delivery of our very own first E/F.

Maybe if we could lend them C/Ds in the interim..?

  6. This is great, but air defence (patriot etc) is the most important.

  8. You can not get a better verification if the functionality of your equipment then in real life combat situations. And this makes Ukraine more independent from the USA
