  15. I live in a county with 21.7% of the population participating in SNAP in some way. They also voted overwhelmingly (70%) for DJT.

So at least ***someone*** is making out.

In 2024 providing SNAP was 99.8 billion.  We just gave Argentina over 2 months of our SNAP benefits to help billionaire investors from suffering a loss on their investments.  SNAP also helps American farmers and rural grocery stores. Why are the Republicans choosing to leave Americans hungry and hurting our farmers and rural small business owners to provide welfare to billionaires?

  23. I live in an apartment complex of disabled and elderly neighbors. It’s not only the children but also the disabled and elderly who rely on SNAP to have a meal. As a disabled individual, I am certain that some of my neighbors are just one meal away from hunger. I don’t have much myself, but I try and help who I can.

    I know money is tight for everyone, but check on your elderly neighbors to see if they need anything.

  25. Something tells me Republicans planned this so when these benefits aren’t issued next month. Trump will think this is the perfect time to issue the insurrection act when people revolt against the government when people are literally going to starve to death.

  27. As I heard the other day, the US keeps *billions* of dollars in a slush fund for SNAP just for this reason – they’re just *choosing* not to distribute it.

  28. This is going to effect everyone. If you don’t think that crime is going to spike you’re mistaken. I work with SNAP recipients, I honestly don’t know how to tell them that once the food banks are depleted I’m not sure what they’re going to do. Just donated to a local rescue mission that does Thanksgiving meals every year. If anyone can afford to, please consider it this year. I don’t think everyone is going to be able to have a dinner that night.

    None of this is even hyperbole. Just what is literally happening.  

  34. SNAP costs the federal government ~$8.3 billion per month and ~%17 of the population rely on these benefits, with 23.5 million of the 41.6 million enrolled (56%) from states Trump won.

    But by bailing out Argentina to the tune of $40 billion the Trump administration is directly showing they care more about funneling cash to a FOREIGN political ally than our own struggling citizens.
