In the first half, Hungary scored five goals in a row to win the game 11-4 and finished 15-9 ahead.
In the second half, the gap remained at 6-8 goals, continuing a stable game. Nine minutes before the end of the game, it was 27-17 by double digits, but in fact, the victory had already been secured before then.
In the attack, KLUJBER Katrin Gitta scored six goals, KUCZORA Csenge scored five, and VAMOS Petra scored four. Goalkeepers ZEMEREY Zsofi and BUKOVSZKY Anna made eight and six saves, respectively, making a total of 14 saves to lead Hungary to victory.
On the other hand, in the Czech Republic, KAFKA MALá Veronika scored five goals and CHOLEVOVÁ Charlotte and KORDOVSKá Kamila scored four goals each, but it was not enough to prevent Hungary’s strong offensive. Czech goalkeeper Novotná Sabrina made 10 saves but failed to prevent his team’s defeat.
Hungarian goalkeeper Anba Bukowski told the European Handball Federation: “Today’s game was not easy. I knew a lot of Czech players would run, so I prepared, and I ran the game as planned. It wasn’t the best game for me personally, but I had a lot to learn. The atmosphere was good because there was a lot of spectators, and it was fun to play at this arena,” he said.
Czech left wing Veronica Kafka Marla said, “The start of the second half was what we wanted, and there was good play. In the end, however, the results did not come out as expected. I was able to learn from today’s experience. Thank you for being with the Czech crowd until the end. The atmosphere was really good,” he said.
