  2. Gerrymandering has one weakness. It puts as much of one group in as few races as possible, and spreads out the other group in as many races as possible. BUT… it’s based on anticipated voter turnout, so if the repressed group votes overwhelmingly for their candidate in the races where they’ve been projected to just under represent enough for the other group to win, coupled with that other group not voting because they think they’ve got an easy win, gerrymandering can be overcome, but it needs everyone who can vote to vote against the weight against them.

  11. If/when we get back some of our power, l certainly hope that MAGA will remember the off-cycle gerrymandering of the states to increase THEIR voting power in the House of Representatives and allow the Democrats to do the same. /s

  16. So in Australia we have an independent electoral commission who makes these decisions. It’s a much better idea to not allow the politicians control over elections.
