I think, in some part, it’s due to Democrats’ association with “snobbery” and “costal elites” and “wokeness” and Republicans’ association with blue collar workers/everyman. These associations are incredibly misleading as republican policies overwhelmingly favor wealthy constituents whereas democratic policies are geared toward government infrastructure for the less wealthy. However, because of the current (incorrect) stereotypes, it seems like Trump is attacking the “democratic woke agenda” and when Hillary denounced the deplorables, she was attacking the silent majority of working class Americans.
That’s because that MAGAt’s are so fucking stupid. The Orange shitstain even said he loves the poorly educated, and that he doesn’t give a shit about them, he just wanted their vote, and the stupid bastards said, “that’s my guy.”
It’s the American media. Left wing media is practically nonexistent. Anything middle of the road tries waaaay too hard to “see both sides” instead of just telling the truth and stating facts. Right wing media is extremely loud, aggressive and everywhere. They love to lie and the MAGA cult eats and breathes it. They refuse to see any other point of view or even any logic. They can’t understand reality.
We have been in an abusive relationship with conservatives for like 70 years. They have graduated from gaslighting to holding us hostage because they know we want out. Leaving an abuser is the most dangerous time because they fear losing their power.
In part it’s because Republicans control a propaganda apparatus that Democrats lack, but Democratic politicians and the media also let them get away with it by letting the attacks slide and giving false Republican outrage currency.
When Democrats correctly identify Republican horribleness, no matter how mildly, Republicans perform outrage theater, the media demands that Democrats explain why they aren’t being nicer to Republicans, and Democrats apologize – often for things they did not say. The whole “deplorables” thing was built on a lie about what Clinton said. The media didn’t call them out on the lie and many Democrats apologized or back-stabbed Clinton (if Sanders had won the 2016 primary, the back-stabbing and media attack wave would have made what happened to Jeremy Corbyn look like child’s play).
When Republicans do stuff like literally call for the extermination of all Democrats or non-Trump voters, the media shrugs and ignores it. Democratic politicians complain for about 2 minutes before they abandon it and say they really want to work together with the Republicans that want to destroy them.
We need more courageous leaders that actually want to fight and that actually believe in things beyond what their big donors tell them. We need a better, more independent media that are willing to hold Republicans accountable and aren’t so terrified of being called liberal if they say the sky is blue.
When the Democrats claim that their leader is ‘saving God’ like MAGA does for Trump, then they can start posting videos where a king drops shit on protesters. Not before then.
And she was being so very generous. Ignorant nazis would be more fitting.
The same reason that we have allowed the gop to slowly erode their own standards for three+ decades and have them only trust a handful of easily controlled news sources. Then you tell those news people that its actually *the dems* that are censoring and oppressing people and hurting them, and boom here we are.
And, as we now know, calling them a “basket of deplorables” was the kindest, gentlest, most generous, compassionate thing Hillary could possibly have said.
Dude the GOP controls all branches of government. They are all in with Trump and for whatever reason, have chosen to get in line with whatever he is doing. The billionaires are buying up all the media outlets to control the narrative. The democrats can’t do shit. At this point I don’t know if we can ever save America. The Supreme Court is bought and paid for by billionaires and I also just read that a rich Republican maga just bought Dominion Voting Systems the largest voting machine provider and that Trump has also hired people who previously tried to change the last election’s outcome. What does that tell you. It tells me shit is hopeless
Anti-communist and anti-left propaganda in the US has been so pervasive and so effective that the entire country is bought into the idea that anyone to the left of the center-right ‘reasonable consensus’ of corporate rule is essentially un-American, and as such is a fair target for attack.
They bandied the snowflake term to describe Dems. King Orange Julius Seizure and his ilk that’s it’s onion thin and if you peel them they cry like a hungry infant. What hypocrites !! The prez can release a video with him dropping excrement on protesters and they laugh . Can you imagine if Biden released a video like that?
GOPs days are numbered. They’ll never gain any credibility after this fiasco, and people will be talking about this “administration” in the future as the joke of the century.

Trump is not running for anything.
The whole political campaign is based on retribution and not much else. His base are people who get violently offended at things but lack the self awareness to see how they might be doing the same thing. My ex wife was like this. If I said, “this soup is peppery…” or some innocuous thing it would send her into a fit of rage and suddenly she would accuse me of saying that her whole cooking is trash. It’s this mentality of, if we even think you’re insulting us, we’re so deeply insecure that we will take out on you fourfold. And if there’s a real insult, if one slips out, you’ll never hear the end of it. It’s basically if Borderline Personality Disorder formed a political party.

The answer to this whole outrage-industrial-complex is simple: the GOP has figured out how to control the narrative through a combo of 1) shamelessly pearl-clutching faux outrage, 2)Presenting unified message guided from the top that does not allow dissent; 3) never, ever apologize; and 4) owning a coherent message. Core to their message was Gobbles Big Lie methodology: say whatever you want, just don’t ever back down or apologize and leave your hypocrisy-awareness at home. Keep repeating The Lie until enough people believe it.continue to Flood the Zone” with enough BS to distract anyone who attempts to analyze what they’re doing.
Finally, this: ask a MAGA what they stand for and the’ll be able to give you an irritatingly-coherent luster of examplesAsk a lib what the Democratic Party stands for and they’ll barely be able to respond other than as opposition to Trump.
It all comes down to authoritarianism’s most powerful feature: they WANT to speak with one voice (or have one voice speak to them).

I’ve been thinking about this a lot. Part of it is what everyone else is saying. The Fox New narrative and outrage theater. But the thing I think people are missing is that Republicans don’t have a conscience. Not really.
The Left cares about facts. Getting things right. Investigating situations and not jumping to conclusions.
The Right doesn’t care about facts. Anything that doesn’t fit their narrative is fake news. Anything that does? Well, by God that is just the absolute truth. No need to look any further as long it confirms my bias.
My mother went down the Facebook Alt-Right pipeline and before her death she was absolutely certain that immigrants were being shipped into this country by the Democrats to destroy America. Slavery wasn’t as bad as the text books made it seem. And the holocaust never happened. They believe all these things because they want to believe them. Outright, flat, baldfaced lies. Because it’s easier to think those than face the hard truths. That you wasted your life believing in a fairy tale God.
It’s because conservatives own the media outlets.
Just like gerrymandering, conservatives can’t win without a disproportionate number of media outlets that spread their propaganda.
They have to be certain to dominate the conversation because their views are unpopular. So they buy almost every media outlet. They own apps, newspapers, whatever Fox News is, etc.
Because conservatives own a disproportionate number of media outlets their talking points reach more people. Even though the viewpoints might be unpopular the sheer number of voices speaking positively about them drowns out or mocks the opposition.
It’s just a numbers game really. Control via the arguably dishonest manipulation of numbers.
It’s kinda like lying, but with math.
That arguably makes it worse.

So anyway, that’s why when democrats do anything they get wildly shouted down. It’s because there are more conservative voices.
Morality and to some extent reality can both be dictated if the message is reinforced often enough.
