  1. Wow, glad that got cleared up. If they break the law they can be arrested. Ground breaking

  2. >The decision issued October 7 by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey I. Cummings extends court oversight of the agency until February 2, 2026, and warns that officers who disregard the order could face contempt or criminal referral.

That would be something useful if the previous paragraph had *not* said:

    >A federal court in Chicago has ordered sweeping new limits on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in the Midwest, ruling that agents repeatedly violated federal law and a binding consent decree by arresting people without warrants.

Hey Judge Cummings, you *just* said they *already* violated the law *and* a consent decree *repeatedly*. So, *issue* those contempt or criminal referrals. Less brow-furrowing, more action.

  3. Duh. They’re citizens and subject to the law of the land. Otherwise they’d be deported, right?

  4. Wouldn’t it be hilarious if nationwide police reform started by ejecting cops who help ICE?

  5. Perhaps you should appropriate an ICE detention facility and keep them in there until their trials… if they ever get any.

  6. first you’re going to have to convince me ice and cops are different entities serving different purposes. otherwise we can skip right to “we investigated ourselves and found we had done nothing wrong”

    can’t spell police without ice!!

  7. Trump private army is stock piling weapons. ( chemical and other according to the Daily Beast) they are starting civilian war .
End this nonsense now and remove him from office .
Putin loves this mess and is helping him .

  8. Start locking them up in state prison. Then when the feds arrest another politician use the captured ice agents as a bargaining chip. The feds want to act like they are at war with the states, let’s start doing the same to them.

  9. Finally, some good news in restraining ICE and other federal agents.

  10. So what happens when a local police force attempts an arrest and ICE aim their weapons at them?

  11. I’ve got $20 that says the number of ICE agents that are arrested will remain at zero. There is not a single cop that is going to be willing to pull that (literal or figurative) trigger to make the first move. And until they do, ICE will act with impunity and dare them to do something about it.

And if they do, either the rest of the cops are going to stand down, or all fucking hell is going to break loose.

  12. This powder keg is getting nuts.

Waiting for the 21st century Fort Sumter

  13. Kidnapping is a felony, right?

    Citizens arrest free for all.

  14. Good!! Now who is going to enforce this? Maybe Chicagos “SWAT” team? It NEEDS to happen though….

  15. I can’t believe it actually took a court decision to state that ICE agents aren’t actually allowed to do illegal things.

  16. The important question is “will they”

It is like saying – “Trump can be impeached”. It is true, but what it is good for?

  17. There is no power without a credible threat of violence. If they can be arrested, then if they resist they need to be met with force. Force up to and including neutralizing them as a threat if they fight back.

You either draw a line or you concede that you have no power.

  18. Take it from someone who lives in Chicago… CPD hates these bussed-in CoD cosplayers. CPD is chill and doesn’t give a fuck unless you are really doing something criminal and reckless.

Now, ISP (Illinois State Police) are a different story. They were the ones in the brown shirts pushing the line at the Broadview ICE facility on behalf of those Meal Team Six “agents”.

  19. And Donnie Dictator will just pardon those officers and demand those judges ejected and arrested.
