  1. I will never travel to the US again as Trump doubles down his their 51 state rhetoric.

  2. Anyone still going to the US is either a fool or a traitor to Canada.
FFS people, he’s threatening our sovereignty!

  3. I’m an American ex Pat and even I’m not going to America right now. I feel like if I leave to visit home, I won’t be allowed to come back (by my own country) and that is just so crazy it’s a real fear. Probably a dramatic one on my part, but still real.

I really miss my family tho 🙁

  4. It’s not even a consideration anymore. Anywhere but the US.

  5. Born and raised in NYC to an American dad and French Canadian mom. Straight. White. Male. Family still there. Ain’t going. I have no idea what’s going on and it seems like no one is safe. I’m staying in Canada. Sucks cause I really wanted my GF to see NYC for her first time over Christmas and have her meet my dad, step-bro etc. No go. It’s too wild. If I’m not risking it, I can’t imagine how more targeted groups feel and it’s very sad tbh.

  6. I wonder if these numbers includes people who live in Canada but work in the US. Most of those people won’t be able to change their travel routines. Or truckers who drive everywhere.

It would be interesting to see the recreation numbers

  7. Forget about traveling to, I paid extra to not transit via the US.

  8. Crossed NY border last weekend and 3 weeks ago and it was dead empty. Never seen so few booths opened.

  9. In Canada, where you are actually still free in 2025, you can do whatever you want lawfully. If you want to travel to the USA you go ahead. I for sure am not setting foot in that dumpster fire south of my country. My political opinions have nothing to do with the fact that Trump threatens our sovereignty. If indeed the POTUS represents the people in the USA, as a patriotic Canadian I will not be stepping foot in the USA until things improve there. Sorry, not sorry.

  10. If I was a Canadian, I would not come here. We have an unjust government now.

  11. As a Canadian you could not pay me to set foot in the USA.

  12. I’d rather not travel to a fascist country if I can avoid it.

  13. Land of the subjugated. Home of the cowards. Your fascist SS ICE gravy seals won’t even show their coward ass faces.

  14. We are not a democracy anymore. We are not the shining beacon on a hill. We are not a land of opportunity. We are not a free people. What a horrible time to be intelligent in this country.

Anyone who is able and can, should seek to leave the states. The blatant destruction of the peoples house, against federal law, with no submitted plans, no funding allocated, no approvals from the historic preservation society, is just the icing on the cake. This country is cooked and in a year or two we will be fully devolved into chaos and civil war.

  15. It’s hardly even about the tariffs anymore. I just don’t want to go because of all the bullshit going on and how dumb Trump is

  16. Stop coming, Canadians. Trump and his sycophants wish to undermine everything that is good and independent about you. Especially don’t come to Florida, where DeDantis has mocked you repeatedly. Just don’t.

  17. I’m an American living in Canada and I don’t even travel back. The idea of anything strange happening because my 22 month old daughter is a dual citizen born in Canada is enough to give me pause. Even if it’s a .1% chance. Nah, y’all can keep that.

  18. My skin is brown. you fuckin’ think I’m going to a country who might deport me to some other brown place that I’ve never been to in my life?

  19. There used to be benefits. Now groceries and clothes are more expensive than in Canada. Vacations are cheaper in Mexico and the Caribbean.

  20. Why would I holiday in a country threatening mine with annexation?

  21. please do not come. it’s a shithole third world country being run to the ground by nazi gestapo meatheads

  22. Gee, it wouldn’t be related to Trumps threat to make Canada the 51st state would it?

  23. In other news water is wet. It will be decades if ever most will consider returning. I for one will never go.

  24. I’ve cancelled two major vacations from there this year; Florida and Boston. Had some stuff booked and cancelled th. We usually go to Buffalo for a night or two and cut that out too. Potential trip to New York was killed as well before we had a chance to actually book anything.

  25. This time of year 95 is usually packed with Quebec license plates heading to FL. I was just thinking the other day how few I’ve been seeing compared to previous years.

  26. As an American, please keep your boycott up.

I’d love to come north and spend some money.

    Is that frowned upon now?

  27. The number of everyone travelling to the U.S. continues to drop.

Hell, for the first time in 20 years, my wife and I didn’t travel anywhere for a summer vacation.

In case you haven’t heard, there’s an idiot in the Whitehouse messing up the economy and congress is enthusiastically helping him. Not a good time or place to travel or spend.

  28. Well I flew over it today (YVR to PVR) mildly anxious someone on board was gonna have a medical emergency that would force us to land in the US. But no one did.

  29. Who the fuck is even till going? It’s a fucking gong show down there, stay the fuck away!

  30. You don’t get to threaten our economy, our safety, and our sovereignty and expect to still benefit from our tourism and our money. The only thing that will ever get me to consider travel to the US again is a family funeral, nothing more.

  31. Don’t come here until Trump is done and the US treats you with respect.

  32. I don’t blame em. I wouldn’t come if I wasn’t stuck here.

  33. My understanding is that pretty much all the traffic left is actually commercial and business trade. The supply chains for the 2 countries are highly integrated so every day thousands of commercial vehicles travel from Canada into America, and vice versa. Canadians are still travelling into America everyday, but mainly as it fits a business purpose such as trucking parts across the border or attending a business meeting.

It is the discretionary travel that has vanished. And that is proving to be highly impactful in my state (Nevada) as well as many others. Canadians were outsized spenders when it came to purchasing of all types of goods and services. And the loss of that purchasing is hitting hard.

  34. Number of Americans sad about the state of the country continue to grow

  35. Lot of snowbirds not going down south for their usual. Fun in the sun escape from the dreaded winter onslaught in the great frozen country known as Canada

  36. Can you blame them? We’re a fucking joke with the orange moron in office.
